I'm pissed and I hate it. New Orleans is fine, but don't make it a freaking conference game throw back

UNT Looks like we get to beat on that old mule again. They were a lot like Middle Tennessee, all pi$$ and vinegar and full of themselves

A little disappointed. I don’t see where a win over NT advances our program any. A loss to NT could really hurt. I want to be excited but I’m not, yet.

Seems to me the Dollar General Bowl and New Orleans Bowl should be reversed. App State is 8-4 and NTex is 9-4 while Troy 10-2 and Toledo 10-2. Just doesn't make sense to me as to how we got shafted so bad. This would make for a much more competitive Dollar General Bowl and would no doubt draw way more attention.

In my mind, a win over Toledo wouldn't really advance the program, either. Truth is, a bowl win does wonders for the program, regardless of who the opponent is. It's a great recruiting win no matter what.

New Orleans gets first pick of Sunbelt teams. We were the first choice. NOLA has always been the prime bowl for our conference.

Let's see.... Toledo is Conference champ and is 10-2. How would that not be better than an old conf rehash with a cusa runner up that's 9-4?

MAC champ is no better than CUSA 3rd team. MAC is horrible.

Just because Nola was once the only Sunbelt tie in doesn't remotely make it prime bowl.

Except that they still have first pick. That makes it prime.

Mark, I'm honestly really glad that you're getting the bowl you wanted, but I just can't follow your logic. We'll just have to agree to disagree. Go Trojans!

MAC champ is no better than CUSA 3rd team. MAC is horrible. Not arguing for or against New Orleans but MAC champ has been a really good team. CUSA 3rd doesnt normally hold a candle to MAC champ.

I was all pumped up to go and then my family reminded me of "real life" and so I am out. Nothing to do with the bowl or opponent. Apparently my vacation fund is all tied up with Euro Disney and Paris. After that, I should get like 10 Troy trips to make up for that.

I was making plans to go, and I still want to, but I have about lost my excitement for the opponent. I just don't want to play a team that we have historically dominated. (We're 8-2 against them).
What was said above is true, it's about recruiting and exposure, we all know that, but it's just not an excited game, IMO.

Dec 16th Troy plays UNT in football and Arkansas in basketball. Right now I’m much more interested in the basketball game.

I plan to attend and I like the New Orleans Bowl, North Texas isn’t the excitement I was hoping for.
Go Trojans
