Do you think our fans would support food trucks on Gameday at Tailgate Terrace? I realize Athletics would have to approve. Don't get me wrong, I'm grilling and tailgating with my own stuff but wouldn't it be nice for those that are mingling, visiting, etc. to have a couple of options to buy food/drink on tailgate terrace?
Just a thought

Haven't they done a little bit of that type of stuff in the past, with Santa Fe and some ticket packages?

More like an actual food truck on tailgate terrace (or street) - hey may have and I'm not familiar with it - would just add to atmosphere IMO Maybe even a "Craft Beer" truck for Hemi

Some of you will remember this, some of you (especially younger fans) won't. Somewhere around '97 -'98 we made the I-AA playoffs and played FAMU in Tallahassee. I have never seen so many different organizations sell so many different types of food. From fraternities to churches and from Bar-B-Q to fried mullet plates, if you wanted it, you could buy it. These folks had their set ups all over the parking lots and green areas around the stadium, some of them as close as directly across the street from the visiting teams stands. It was the most unique set up for food at a ballgame I've ever seen. This would be a great thing to do at TROY. It would give organizations a chance to raise funds as well as provide a big variety of food choices.

All food on campus has to be approved by Sodexho. The Santa Fe's of the world are able to pull off those things through Troy Sport Properties as advertisers I believe. I feel certain, we could never have food trucks as long as Sodexho is on campus.

I would seriously like to see bottled water available. Early in the season when it is hot and you want to get a good spot for the Trojan Walk it would be cool to buy a bottle of water instead of hoofing it back to my tailgate.

Why not put up a large tent for visitors that don't have tailgate connections. Put some TVs in it, sell beer and water, hot dogs, burgers, etc.

Is the church parking lot considered campus? Is the street curb where Alumni house is considered campus? Is the armory considered campus? Can Sodexho own a food truck? Lots of opportunity for somebody on Tailgate Terrace in my opinion.

Early in the season when it is hot and you want to get a good spot for the Trojan Walk it would be cool to buy a bottle of water instead of hoofing it back to my tailgate. A few years ago, South Alabama played Miss State or someone big at Ladd Stadium and they underestimated the crowd size, the heat and the lines for the concessions and people started passing out, heat strokes etc. so they were letting you bring in a couple of bottles of water, but dont know if they are still doing that.

That includes all parking around the front, sides, and back of the church as well as the lawn in front of the parsonage. This may be one of the best values surrounding TROY football (other than the actual games). The price for parking on the parsonage lawn this season is $75.

I covered the Elba-Aliceville game last year, in Aliceville, and they had the most insane options for food I've ever seen at a high school game (and especially that small). They had all kinds of different fish, shrimp, chicken, pulled pork, hamburgers and even fried Oreos. It was pretty crazy. Would love to see Troy bring in some varieties or at least let food trucks or vendors set up out there.

Lots of opportunity for somebody on Tailgate Terrace in my opinion. There always seems to be people opposed to food trucks. I live in Ocala, FL and they have done a huge push to revitalize the downtown square area. There are several bars, two restraunts and assorted businesses. They built a large park area and do concerts etc there. They had about five food trucks at the first one and people loved them. The two restraunts ( Harry's seafood and Mark's Prime Steakhouse) pitched a fit that it was taking business away. Harry's you can't get in on any night, let alone a concert night and Mark's has $25-$50 steaks. The food trucks served a purpose for people to eat that were pressed for time or couldn't get in the two restraunts. The city caved to the restraunts and attendance has dwindled at the concerts. Sodexo will do the same thing. Who eats at the dining hall on Gameday? Instead of enhancing the fan/Gameday experience they will control it with status quoa

I'm calling Mayor Reeves to discuss food trucks. We can enhance game day experience or as stated stay status quo. FYI - for the Wednesday night game against South Alabama - as soon as Trojan Walk ends and SOTS finishes playing for the fans - DJ or Band at our tailgate terrace tent - all are welcome Idaho game - Thursday night - same thing - DJ or Band - all are welcome
Go Trojans.

Maybe the next contract should specify that food trucks WILL be allowed on game day during the duration of that contract! Pull some of Sodexo's control!

A poster brought up a good point in that are the two churches considered University? If not a win, win. Church could charge a fee for trucks to park there, food trucks make money and fans get choices in food.
