Former WKU head coach has JSU dancing for the first time in program history in his FIRST year at JSU I watched the last two games on TV and it looked like two completely different teams. What would amount to 3 (in high school) quarters Thursday we hustled, moved the ball offensively with speed and determination, shot free throws effectively then came the the 4th quarter and everything changed and we threw away a large lead and hung on to win. Saturday we seemed lethargic for 31/2 quarters against a team that seemed as uninterested in winning as we did. The hustle was no where nearly the same as Thursday, our offense seemed lost and except at the end the free throw shooting was very suspect. To me, there's just something missing with this group. You want to see that end of the year tournament ready drive and we have picked it up of late but then comes a game like Saturday's! I seriously thought we wouldn't score 20 by half. Even the announcers said at one point in the second half that Troy's total score only amounted to 11 baskets! Hummmm!

I saw him coach up here at WKU (his first game was against Troy in the Sun Belt several years ago after they fired their coach in mid-season). Something happened here that lead to him leaving after last year and he actually called Jax State to see if they were interested in his services after last season. He seems to find a way to win in the tournaments, he's a great guy and I'm happy for him. He recruited the kid from Lithuania to come to WKU but when he left for Jacksonville, the big kid followed him there. A huge turnaround for the Gamecocks....
Go TROY!

Possum, I was actually at a Western KY vs Jax State baseball game the last weekend of February in Bowling Green. I walked in the stadium with my Troy Baseball sweatshirt and ball cap and only one guy made a comment. He was one of our Troy Football bus drivers from Prattville who has a son playing for the Gamecocks. I talked with several of the Jax State fans and none of them were even aware of the JSU-TROY rivalry. it is amazing how quickly things have changed relative to what was once a HUGE rivalry back in the day. I know you recall some of the original SIGNS that fans held up during the games when JSU came down to TROY, some of which were not appropriate for children to see, for sure!!!
GO TROY, WHUP Jax State!!!
