I figured I would start a new thread for this... I meant to go to this earlier this season while I was down for the South game, but i am deffinately going to try and make it this trip. www.exploreum.com/event/guitar-instrument-rocked-world-grand-opening/ The page is for the grand opening event, but the exhibit will be there till the end of the year. Pretty awesome exhibit if you are into music. You can check out the website for more info and see the other exhibits there. Of course there is the USS Alabama and the Mardi Gras Museum. If you want history drive down to Fort Gaines on Dauphin Island. You can then take the ferry across the bay to Fort Gaines in Gulf Shores.

Forgive me if this has been mentioned elsewhere. I am planning to be at the stadium between 2-3pm to get a parking space. I have never been to Ladd-Peebles. Are there any restaurants or any thing of interest nearby the venue? Thanks for any info you can provide.

Are there any restaurants or any thing of interest nearby the venue? Thanks for any info you can provide. Nothing within walking distance. Callaghans Irish Social Club is a couple miles away... Great Irish pub. Really Great burger! Kind of a hole in the wall but if im not mistaken the burger has been voted best in alabama several times. It is right in the middle of Oakleigh District which is all old historic homes. I ate there before the South game earlier this year. If you are going to the Trojan Walk at the team hotel there are ALOT of options in the area before you head to the stadium.

Someone please correct me if I'm wrong, I don't want to disparage anyone or anything without a basis. My recollection of Ladd-Pebbles is that it is located within a residential area, much like Legion Field. I do not remember there being anywhere to eat nearby, let alone, any attractions. I'm sure the alumni association will have a tailgate party, and if they do it like they have all season, non-members can eat for 5 bucks. That will be you best bet.

Such a shame too. Why, I had a message just this morning from Jim Cantore wanting to know if I knew how to contact you. He wanted to talk to you about the job of frontline hurricane reporter. Too bad your highlight threads will be limited to a less than a full follow through of this week's weather. You may have missed your chance at fame. BTW, that medication compliance thing is always good. Keep it up.đź‘Ť

And if you look at the bowl rap up if of day two .....right smack dab in there is Neal saying "The kids were complaining about the weather at practice and that 09 game was in the 20's THEN HE SAYS --The temperature should be in the mid fifties at KICKOFF". Who knew the coach was relying so much on my weather updates??! What pray tell shall he do now.... Dang restraining order&""$)")@@)"$)!!!!!!

Island, I would eat at Callahans it is on Marine Street in the Oakleigh Historic District, Best burger in the world and a very cool place. It used to be a private irish social club until about 20 years ago. The area has beautiful 19th Century architecture, so you can ride around a little after your burger and beer. Too far to walk to stadium but pretty close.

After the game: The Merry Widow, located downtown at 51 S. Conception Street (just 2 blocks west up Conti St from the Hampton Inn on Royal St), will feature the 12-piece Merry Widow Christmas Band complete with a full horn section, keys, and vocals. There will be peanuts roasting on an open pot, jack frost nipping at your nose (maybe), and stockings hung with care. Do you have the sleigh bells to participate in the fabled Olde Towne Eggnog Drinking Contest? Celebrate the Trojan victory in true holiday style. Doors open at 9:00pm. Show starts at 10:30ish, so there will be plenty of time to get there after the game. More info: www.facebook.com/events/1411247538894758/Welcome to Mobile! Go Troy! Merry Christmas!
