Just found out that Eric passed away in his sleep last night. Please keep his wife Tiffany and his kids in your prayers. Eric played on LB's first two teams at Troy and stayed and worked in Troy. He was one of the founders of the T-Club and and a great Troy supporter. Rest in peace Eric, you truly will be missed

A great man and a great Trojan. He was always full of life and full of energy. Gone way too soon. Thoughts and prayers to his wife and children.

Johnny Williams spoke at Rotary today and said that Eric, Kelvin Simmons and Reggie Dwight were the first 3 films Coach Blakeney saw when he was hired. Said it was only because of the transition rules (we were moving from DII to 1AA) that we could sign them when we did. He said Eric was an immediate leader and someone they (the coaches) always relied on to do the right thing. He was a good man, very involved in the life of his kids, praying for Tiffany and their two sets of twins.

Eric was actually signed by Coach Maddox. Eric started at center on the 1990 team, the last Maddox team. I know because we talked about it a lot and the difference when LB took over and going from Coach Yeager as his OL coach to Wayne Bolt

Johnny obvisouly remembered it differently Coach Williams is a great man. It was 26 years ago lol. Eric positively played in 1990. I remember him playing plus he played with Julius Pittman and Reggie Hutchins who were both in my signing class in 1986. 1990 was their fifth year senior season. I remember Eric telling me how he was a juco All American TE and Coach Maddox moved him to center and he almost left Troy. He said Reggie and the late George Coker talked him into staying. I'm going to miss talking with him, he was a great guy and a great Trojan. This really hit home with me. Life is fragile
