Does anyone know what happened to Mr. Ho's Restaurant??? There has been a sign on the door that reads "Closed for Renovation" for months now. But I don't see anything going on inside...

Renovations take longer in Troy, AL than anywhere else?? I haven't noticed any changes to anything or any work being done since they closed. It looks abandoned.

I actually stopped in the parking lot the other day and looked in the windows. Everything is exactly the same as it was when they "closed for renovations."

I was at Troy State back in the 90's and ate at Mr. Ho's several times over the years. I was in there one day when Coach Bolt and some football staff came in to eat. The owner (I am guessing) came running out from the back and yelled at Coach Bolt and his crew saying (in my best Ho voice), " No, No, NO! You get out of here, You reason buffet go up quarter!" I laughed so hard I almost peed myself. One of the funniest things I ever saw. And I am not trying to make fun of Coach Bolt. But back in that day before he lost all his weight the man would put away some food. I am glad that he decided to get healthier and drop a lot of his weight. I will say this, the man could still move on the football field when he worked with the O-line back in that day. I imagine he was a dang good lineman himself during his playing days. For all the accolades he got for his defenses, I think he was an even better O-line coach. He was tough on his guys, but they all played hard for him.

Did you try it after Victor sold it? When it reopened, the food was a LOT better than it had ever been before.

Not sure if they have opened yet, but I saw people working inside Mr. Ho's the other day.

Ho's is open again under new management. All I have tried are the steamed dumplings and the spring rolls but both were very good.
