Well, another loss that can be chalked up to poor shooting and poor free throws. They are going to leave Denton 0-3 if they don't play better...
These players seriously need to go and learn and how to shoot a free throw. Otherwise it'll be another crappy, losing season. That's the reason they lost tonight.

Free throws were a killer tonight. Hopefully they can rebound and win tomorrow.

I thought we would be farther along than a loss to a samford in year 3....

I thought we would be farther along than a loss to a samford in year 3.... You and me both. If Cunningham doesn't begin to get things rolling a little this season, his seat is going to start getting pretty hot... He's bringing in the talent to win, but if that talent doesn't get coached properly he's in trouble.

Anyway, I'm fed up with all the in-state losses, not just basketball, but it seems like every darn sport. If Cunningham can't get them right really quick he needs to be out on his be-hind.

Coach gets ( or should) four years, he basically had to rebuild the program from scratch. Next year is setup for a tournament run.

Wanting the basketball coach fired after four games is the equivalent of wanting the football coach fired after the first quarter of the first game. I see a much better team than in previous years. This team fought back to beat USF. They overcame a 16 point deficit last night and had a good opportunity to win. Last night the biggest problem was the lack of production from the bench and overall this season free throw percentage is poor. Correct those two things and this is a pretty decent team. It's no longer a one man show.

Except he has had two years plus one with Maestri in the new arena and his record the first two years is no better than Maestri. Sartain was the reason people on here gave Maestri a pass for his lazy recruiting and evidently juco players didn't care about arenas because that's all he recruited. IMO if Cunningham has the same record in year three he will never win. His record should be improving every year and it isn't. Rigsby took over a 2 win team and improved year one, year two, 20 wins last season. Cunningham isn't.

She improved year one, two and drastically year three. PC has stayed the same year one and two. If they don't improve year three then year four will be no different. Year is young, let's see what happens

I think it's important that we see some amount of overall improvement after this season is over. With players like Persons, Varnado, Walton, Hollimon, and Hicks (an original Auburn signee), I believe Troy is in the Top 4 or 5 of the Sun Belt talent-wise now. I just want Cunningham to do right with it.

Most people truly don't understand the absolute dumpster fire the program was in. It was bad. Next year is the year this team should be on top. If it happens early, great. But give him four. And if next year is a failure, y'all are right, it will never happen.

Unless you have the roster like Kentucky has where you can just out athlete everyone, you had better be able to make at least 75% of FTs and shoot at least 35% from 3

Coaches are hired to win, not blow smoke up our rears. If you can't win, you get replaced. Same in any job
