It may be a bit early but please buy season tickets if you do not already. Also, if you can, buy extra General Admission season tickets and give them back. Season ticket sales are crucial to our success! We need to hit 15,000

NCAA requires 15,000 and it was less than that - we need to hit 15000+

NCAA requires 15,000 and it was less than that - we need to hit 15000+ I don't think that is correct. NCAA requires 15,000 yearly average attendance. Not just season tickets sold. And we all know they don't enforce this rule or several schools would be in trouble.

The NCAA doesn't regulate season ticket sales. FBS schools are supposed to average at least 15,000 in attendance. We have been comfortably above that number every year since 1998 with the exception of 2002.
I would expect season ticket sales to be up a bit this year with a new and exciting coach.

I think that there may be confliction here between "actuals" and "seats sold". Now, I'm not positive on how the calculation works, but I BELIEVE (as I was told by AD Staff a few years ago) the math goes like this: you add game day ticket sales with the season tickets sold and that is the number of " paid attendance". NOT the number of butts in seats. Which would explain those days when 17,324 is announced and eye test shows around 8-10K.

Well for example eastern Michigan averages under 5k a year announced attendance.
How are they allowed to stay FBS if that's the rule that is enforced?

Don't u have to average 15k so many years in a row or something?
They might have averaged that in 2014 but what about previous years?

15,000 two years in a row Here is the bottom line - I believe if you ask the Athletic Department they will tell you that they would like to have 15,000 in Season ticket sales so they don't have to worry about the NCAA If you want to know the NCAA Rules - call them or our Athletic Department. The fact is we need to sell 15,000 in Season tickets so get your A** on the phone, email, facebook, twitter, tumbler, instagram and any other social network and help our Athletic Department get to 15,000. Just be a Trojan Team Player by fulfilling our role and promoting season ticket sales.

We average 15,000-19,000 most games and there were three games last year..App St being the most glaring where there was no way we were even close to that number in the stands. Not sure on how Many, if any that students are counted in attendance. Attendance is announced on ticket sales, not buts in the stands. So I guess they count the student ID card swipes as a ticket sold?? Hopefully we can get 15,000 season tickets done. I will buy the family 4 pack again even though realistically I will be able to attend no more than two games this year. Thst is a great value and is doable for most fans imo.

Seems to me that if students are charged an athletic fee to get into games free than that's the same as selling them a ticket at a reduced price

For the last several years, we haven't put a great product on the field. To attract the casual, i.e. non-message board poster, fan we have to create gimmicks to get them through the door and put a quality product on the field. The athletic department has tried a bunch of gimmicks, including giving away free TVs and tuition, and that has helped some. It is now time for our players and coaches to win. No one wants to go watch a team lose. Start winning, and folks will come.

Until you are in the same league (FBS) with the Elephants and Tigers, those attendance numbers can't be argued. That's like comparing Hemi's looks to Mrs. Hemi's, it's just not fair. The run of 5 straight titles saw some of highest attendance, but also during the same time frame Saban was "rebuilding" the dynasty in Tuscaloosa. Prior to his arrival, Bammers hadn't been to natty in more than 15 years. As Bama became good again, more "casual" Troy students jumped back on the Tide bandwagon. Which in turn proves my earlier statement. Winning games = butts in seats. You go 9-0 to start the season, I guarantee 25K at the home finale vs Ga. So.

App St outdrew us when they were FCS as did Delaware and others. NDSU plays to sell out crowds in FCS. Winning helps no questions but students have always left Troy games at halftime. Some of it is tied into the product on the field but it effects the average fan more. My wish is that these students finally realize that they are not at Bama and Auburn. Some couldn't get in there, some could not afford it. Realize that Troy wanted them and accepted them and will give them the opportunities in life. Show support for that. I was raised 40 minutes from Lizzard town here and 3 hours from the Criminoles. I have no allegiance to either. Neither wanted me in football, Troy did, paid my way to school, earned my degree, made lifelong friends. That is the attitude these students need and it's a battle to do that. Even people I went to school with have Tide and other schools plastered on their fscebooks.

None of the FCS schools above compete with schools that have won multiple national titles.
