met an NC State fan this week while playing golf in the Carolinas and will be tailgating with him and his crew - nice guy and he said they love the tailgate as much as the game - he doesn't expect much from teh pack but they are picked 3rd in their division behind FSU and Clemson who are both Top 10-15 teams depending on the poll - should be fun with a 5:00 start
I'm staying at the Hampton Inn closest to the stadiium - where is everyone else?
Go Trojans!

NC State fan here...don't know if it's a trap game but it is the 1st game so who knows what might happen? Hurry up offenses always make me nervous. Likely to be hot and humid so conditioning will be key with fatigue and cramps a possibility. Two years ago we were 3-9 and ofor in the league. Much improved last year but our division includes FSU, Clemson, and Louisville and those will always be tough games.
Welcome to all you guys making the trip. I hope you enjoy the trip to Raleigh...but not too much!

We went from winning our 5th straight conference championship in 2010 to finishing near the bottom of our league in 2011 and haven't finished above .500 since then. The final nail in the coffin last year was a home loss to Abilene Christian (an FCS team). Since then Troy overhauled EVERYTHING. We've hired our old offense coordinator as our new head coach and we're eager to see what his program can do.

Ok, going off the post-spring 2-deep and the movement of some players in fall camp, the trenches look to have even match-ups. TR will, again, be the lightest, weight-wise. They've switched their LT and LG...the guard is listed @ 6'8" 318 lbs. I would assume he wasn't fleet of foot enough to handle speed rushers and the tackle may be their best OL. This should be a good test for TR and Lebbie. Hopefully can get some more info on our 2 or 3-deep so we can look at some more potential match-ups.

brutha,
Joe Thuney is moving to LT this year. He is a very good OL and a lot of us armchair head coaches wanted him to stay at guard where he excels...but the coaches know the personnel so we trust it's the best move for the team. RS FR Will Richardson has been surprisingly good preseason and is slotted as starter at RT. Of the pictures you posted, keep your eye on #28 Jaylen Samuels. Don't know how much Coach Doeren will show in games leading up to conference play, but Samuels will be used all over...FB, TE, and in the slot. He was VERY good as true FR last year. As you know, leading rusher from last year is suspended 1st two games for being stupid but State is loaded at that position. DL is talented but young. Another guy to watch is true FR Nyheim Hines. He's a return guy, running back, and slot receiver. People around here are gushing about his potential.
