For a team that is 22-17, they have a very high RPI. An at-large bid to the NCAA Tournament is definitely possible for this team if they can string some wins together. They already have a decent looking at-large resume with wins over #5 FSU, #10 Lousiana, #51 UAB, and a sweep of #70 ULM.

They are just getting better as the season goes along.
Mullins is proving to be a great coach early

I wonder if the Alabama football team is going to show up and watch them, since the softball team chooses Alabama over Troy during home games.

I would be thrilled if they got an at-large bid, but they better focus on trying to win the Sunbelt Conference Tourney. There are three Sunbelt teams with a higher RPI, and I seriously doubt they will give that many spots to the Sunbelt. They were swept by Georgia State (#43) and they have losses that will hurt them. If they could just beat the teams they are supposed to beat (Kennesaw State, North Florida, Stetson) and sneak up on a few of the better teams (like they have done), then we can start hoping for at large bids. The last series against South Alabama will be a huge test.

I'd be more concerned about an at-large bid as a plan b...win the conference and none of that is relevant. The consistency is getting there so they're getting to an elite level by showing they can beat elite teams. This is going to be interesting.

Whether we get a bid this or not, Coach Mullins has softball trending in the right direction
