was 8 games under .500 last season. With 18 wins so far, they're 4 games from their win total from last year. 22 games to go with top 10 wins. It seems that a possible year one turn-around is likely. As long as extended losing streaks are off the table...

I will say that the hitting is much better. Same players and higher averages for the most part. Though the two highest averages are new players/transfers that were recruited by the prior staff. The defense is woeful though. The second baseman has 17 errors! We may need to try a defensive replacement after her second at bat for a few innings to try to cut down on the extra outs, and then put her back in when her spot in the order comes back up. I watched both of the games Saturday and listend on Sunday. The pitching was pretty much in place from last year, so I would stay it is still to be determined on the new coach. I do like the confidence and I hope those huge wins will show the team that they can compete with the best. The coach will be bringing in her players next year or maybe the year after since they get verbal commitments from 10th graders now in softball. I am not sure if she had to honor those or is able to bring in her own recruits. I am excited for sure!
