The Troy Trojans have tended to be a better second half team, entering Thursday night’s contest with the Louisiana-Monroe Warhawks with a 30-point scoring advantage in the third and fourth quarters. That trend has helped Troy rally for wins, but the Sun Belt’s reigning offensive player of the year ensured that would not happen on Halloween night. Kolton Browning threw for four second-half scores and added another on the ground in leading the Warhawks to a 49-37 win over the Trojans at Veterans Memorial Stadium. “ The difference is that No. 15 there, brother,” Trojans head coach Larry Blakeney said. “That guy is a magician with their offense. He just makes so many things happen. There were four or five plays that he made that I don’t know if there is another quarterback in the league (that) can.” Browning almost did not need such a strong second half given the terrible start the Trojans had offensively and in the special teams. Troy (5-4 overall, 3-2 conference) did not convert a first down in the first quarter, going 0-for-5 on third down conversion attempts. Meanwhile, Browning hit one big pass play – a 60-yard touchdown to Ajalen Holley – before a muffed punt led to a 3-yard Centarius Donald TD run ( Full Article). angry-kitty
