I just want to go on record and say I don't think Neal is the man that is going get the program to a Championship level. Why do you feel that way?

I'm mixed feelings on Neal... He as a good OC for us. But doesn't gave a ton of expierence.
He could be good... I wouldn't be upset if we hired him. I just have my concerns

I just have my concerns I have less concerns with him than a rb coach and a dl coach who have never called a play. I would love a proven hc but that's not going to happen because we are hell bent on saying we hired a sec asst

I've heard that the late legendary Paul Bear Bryant has been spotted in Troy and he is NOT DEAD and that he is interested in the job.

Let me put this spin on it. Neal is recruiting lower to middle level SEC talent. That's where his connections are at right now. If someone like Campbell comes in he is recruiting FCS players. We are better suited for Neal to use his contacts than we would be for Campbell. Neal is also a very familiar with how things work at Troy, but I most certainly wouldn't call him a Troy guy. A lot of people may not like Neal because he's going to do it his way!! He's not going to be a bubbly character. He's going to be all about business. That's what we need.

You need to ask the question " why did the AD stop off in Dallas after the Idaho game" Pretty sure everyone knows what he was doing there.

Look at the names. Connect the dots for those of us less connected who, or what, was in dallas for the AD to visit?

And what, pray tell, would compel Jerry to do that? Valid reasons are...? Evidently you don't get sarcasm. But, Jones has a massive ego so you never know. Might as well ask, all he can do is say no.

Derek Dooley Current Position: Dallas Cowboys Wide Receivers Coach
Derek Dooley seems like an odd candidate for Troy. He has no direct ties to the school or the Sun Belt Conference. Then again, if those are requirements then Troy should not have to search too far to find a coach. There are plenty of negative things to say about Dooley, but would it not be a big hire for the Trojans? He has recruited SEC territory and has enough connections to bring in a good coaching staff. This is also the type of notable hire that will get ticket sales to go up. Dooley would probably look nice in pants with Troy's school colors

Fired SEC coach who we should have beat in 2012 . Why would his name sell tickets. You want to sell tickets? Win

Neal Brown may not be the right guy but I would bet on him - he's just got fire in his belly to win - as someone said he is all business - can't wait to see a Troy team that takes the field with an attitude/swagger again and I believe Coach Brown would bring it first and the players will follow

I would be thrilled with either Neal Brown or Derek Dooley. Both would be great choices in my opinion.

Oh I get it, I'm even a big sarcasm purveyor. I just haven't been on the board long enough to know who the regular sarcasm culprits are.

Hey fellow Trojans......What makes Derek Dooley a good choice for Troy?
Nothing that I can see. He has a terrible college record with more losses than wins in both the WAC and SEC. The year we played his TN team, we went head to head with them, which means they were just as bad as we were that year. Other than one good year at LA Tech when they were in the WAC, there's nothing on his college resume that says he's a good fit as a head coach for anyone. Edit: He may make a decent position coach. How are the Cowboys by way of wide receivers?
