The first touchdown in ULM’s 38-10 win over Georgia State Saturday night released excitement on many different levels. For starters, the 4-yard pass from quarterback Kolton Browning to Tony Cook was the first collegiate touchdown for the sophomore receiver and the first touchdown that included Browning since the Warhawks’ lone touchdown in their 70-7 loss at Baylor on Sept. 21.The pent up energy in Browning burst loose, and he sprinted to Cook in the endzone for a celebrated embrace and did so again on the second touchdown – a 7-yard pass to Ajalen Holley to mark the first multi-touchdown first quarter for ULM since Grambling. “When you have all the things we can do available to us, when you have all those things, then it becomes much less predictable, and that allows you to do even more things,” ULM head coach Todd Berry said. “The reality of it is it’s kind of like a mechanic. The more tools you have, the better mechanic you have a chance to be. We had more tools tonight, so it made us a little bit better of a mechanic.” Browning came into the postgame interview room certainly looking like a mechanic. The freshly showered quarterback had his smeared eye black looking more like grease on his face after a hard day’s work. ( Full Article) iconTroy3
