I was at a Pizza Hut in Mobile and saw a South med school student ordering a large pepperoni pizza. The cashier said, "Would you like that pizza cut into 6 or 8 pieces?" The South student paused, then said, "Cut it into 6 pieces, I don't think I could eat eight."

Why did they install artificial turf at Ladd-Peebles Stadium? To stop the south cheerleaders from grazing! What's the difference between an elephant and a South cheerleader?..................about 10 lbs. How do you make up the difference?................force feed the elephant!

Saw some new gear on Twitter from I think Eagle Eye website or something like that. The shirts were Southern Tide Brand. Good quality stuff and good looking The owners of Eagle Eye are friends of mine and I saw one of them at church tonight and thanked her for carrying TROY gear and for the big kickoff event they are going to do on August 25th. She mentioned that Brent Jones has really worked hard to get more merchandise out into different retailers. I told her we would be there and support them as a thank you for their efforts. I would suggest that if anyone is in the Dothan area and can come to the store that day between noon and 3pm, please do so. Purchase something TROY and thank the Andersons for carrying TROY merchandise. As an incentive, if you purchase over $75 of merchandise you will get two general admission tickets to the TROY vs Boise game. Go to shopeagleeye.com for all the details.

You're being generous, Buzz. On September 1, it will be BRUTAL on the visitor's side until the sun falls behind the home side seats. I had seats there for 1 season and I had to explore other options. Those seats are also brutal in November, if it's cold and windy. There's nothing to break the wind before it hits you in the face (North Endzone Building may help some there). One of the coldest TROY games I ever sat through (GMAC Bowl 2010 was the coldest), was the 1995 game vs Jax State. Temp was in mid 40's with wind out of the NW at around 15 MPH. Nasty. ULL game in 2008. Night game and 36 degrees at kick off. When I got to my car after the game it said 28 degrees and I couldn't feel my feet. My wife who can't take the cold to begin with was about to die. I remember that ULL game. That was the game that DuJuan Harris ran all over ULL for 200+ yards and we nearly hung 50 points on the Cajuns! It was bitterly cold. To me it was colder that night than at the GMAC Bowl the next season! Of course I was warm/hot at the GAMC Bowl because my wife and I had just run about a mile and a half from where we parked to the stadium with UnderAmour cold gear and layers of clothes and a heavy jacket after being stranded on I-10 with a flat tire and a bad spare. The wrecker service took about 2.5 hours to get to us because he was looking for us on the eastbound side of the interstate and at the wrong mile marker! By the time we got a new tire, got to the hotel room to clean up, and sped off to the game, we had missed all pre-game activities and were in a dead sprint to get to our seats for kickoff! Needless to say with all the colder on and all that running, when we got to our seats, I actually shed my outer coat and didn't feel the need to put it on until about the end of the 3rd quarter. So yea, I was colder at the ULL game the year before.

I would love to come this weekend, but my daughter has a swim meet. And as much as I love TROY, my child wins that battle every time.

I stirred it up with a few posts the other day. I posted as DT 97. I think my posts were around pages 21, 22, 23. I didn't identify myself as a Troy fan. It was fun to aggravate them over there. The guy that posts as RickDaddy4188 is an absolute moron. The is only one DT. Your the Dedicated Trojan and I'm the Dothan Trojan. It's all good.

Depressing. Embarrassing. Again, Defense did what they needed to do ... holding them to one touchdown in 1st half despite giving them 3 turnovers. They can't do it all. We lack leadership ... especially on the offense. End of the day ... it will be one conference loss. There's still lots of season left ... we'll see if this team has any character ... and we'll see what kind of coach NB is. NB is our version of what Mark Richt was for Georgia. He is a good guy, well liked, will win a lot of games, but will lose 1 or 2 games a year that he shouldn't lose. Im not sure why, but we can't handle success. Sometimes it is easier to push your players to play above their heads when they are David facing Goliath. But when you are the one with the bullseye on you chest and everyone is looking to take you down (which beating LSU and being a Sunbelt "favorite" did for us), it is sometimes hard to match the focus, intensity, and preparation of your opponent. It is obvious that we were outcoached and outplayed tonight by USA, much like we did to LSU. It proves the point that not only do you have to have the Jimmy's and Joe's, but also the X's and O's, and the heart and passion to get "up" for every opponent on your schedule. Much like Saban ranted to press/media that the hype was like "rat Poison" for his team, we suffered from the same kind of thing, because we bought in to the media hype over the last 10 days and thought we would go 11-1 and be in a New Year's Day bowl. All the while USA was putting in the hard work to take us down. In 6 games this year we have not played a single "exceptional" game. We have played one "good' game against LSU and 5 "sub-par" games in the others. We could easily be 2-4 or 1-5 instead of 4-2. That should be a reality check for this team and coaching staff to try to turn the level of play up for the second half of the season. We could and should be able to run the table and finish 10-2, but if we have more performances like tonight, then 8-4 or 7-5 is a real possibility. Rant is over, good night and Go TROY! I still love my school, my team, my players, and my coaching staff. Just disappointed in the preparation, play, and lack of passion tonight. Just remember even in a loss it is better to be a TROY Trojan than a USA Jaguar.

I was about to head out door to game and son became sick with vertigo/vaso-vagal reaction. Not going to be able to go to game today. I have four tickets in section 108 if anybody wants them. I am in Dothan and will give them to anybody that wants them.

I understand the desire to see Gill stay in the game and see how long you can ride with him before bringing in Skinner. But at the same time we have to consider having him as fresh and rested as possible going into the final conference series with USA and then into the conference tourney.
Part of that game was just bad luck. By that I mean when Gill was facing Rooker with two outs and runners on first and second base, Rooker hit a two-strike pitch (a good slider that was low and on the outside of the plate) to shallow/mid centerfield. Our CF was playing so deep (respecting Rooker's power: He is at the top or near the top of NCAA in HRs, doubles, and RBI) that even though he broke in quickly on the ball he couldn't make the catch to get the third out and keep the score at 8-5 in Troy's favor. Had our CF been playing at normal depth or even just 2-3 steps in from where he was, he makes a relatively routine running catch for out #3 and we keep the three run lead going into the top of the 7th inning. The truth is that Gill made a good pitch and Rooker just made good two strike swing and poked it into centerfield and our CF was understandably playing a good hitter deep and couldn't make the play. Baseball is a funny game that way. That one swing/play changed the momentum of the game and it could have easily gone in our favor. But as much as we want to beat the big boys, I would rather set the pitching staff up for a good run in the conference tourney and beat a "big boy" team in an NCAA regional game.
I am looking forward to the rest of the season as I think we are playing much better baseball the last few weeks with our hitting starting to come around. we have the potential to make some noise if we continue to play well.

We played well, but did not handle the pressure late in the game well. We seemed a bit overwhelmed and discombobulated during the last 4-5 minutes of the game. You just kind of sensed that USC was going to make that run and comeback for the win.
