The joys of watching Troy get hosed by the refs while on deployment 🤦‍♂️

Watson played really well tonight, that must have been what the coaches have been seeing in practice that never really shows up in the field like this. He made great throws under pressure, did a great job scrambling for yards and first downs. If he plays like that the rest of the season we will be in great shape. Defense played lights out as usual and with good offensive production they were able to play tough till the end. The O line also seemed to play a lot better. Whatever the coaches and players did this week they need to keep it up.

View AttachmentWhy are people making such a big deal about the 11 am start. I don't think it's a bad thing. Also, was it the school's decision or the Sun Belt's? (It wouldn't let me embed the tweet) The only issue I have with the time is I won’t be able to make it now which was the only game I would have been able to come to this year. That’s a me issue not the schools, I may be able to tune in around half time so I’ll enjoy it at home. I could see where people would be upset if it was a similar situation to mine but they had already reserved hotel rooms and bought tickets, but now couldn’t make it.

What are the odds of a 2 loss Troy team making it to a NY-6 game? I love me some Posts from Spiritual Trojans but that is a real real hard Negative percent chance. I agree 200%, I was asking a question as a way of answering how last nights game cost HCJS a big bonus. If he won the team could easily work towards getting ranked and possibly having a shot at a NY-6 game if Kansas St wins out, both of which mean money.

Please elaborate on how this cost him Millions. Is that because you think his star is not shining as bright as it was last year? What are the odds of a 2 loss Troy team making it to a NY-6 game?

Heck of a game by our defense but you can’t play as inconsistent on offense as we do and win every game. We still have 7 SBC games left. So what? Now what? The way we’ve played over the last 3 games, I say we win 4 of those and maybe split our out of conference games. If the coaches get to work turning the offense around and making some tweaks to the defense then we could end the regular season 10-2. I’m hoping for the later but expecting the former.

First much good as gunner did tonight he did equally as much bad to hurt the team! I like him a lot he’s been a fighter, but his decision making seems to hurt us in the long run! Next weeks game is going to be really difficult also! That’s my biggest issue, he’s not consistently one way or the other for a whole game. He has moments that look really good the just stalls out.

In grand scheme, last week's game did not matter (I do come from the school of they all matter) Our season starts today - Craddock opens the playbook and leaves it all on the field Defense holds and we win 21 - 17 The defense held, but I guess Craddock decided to hold off onreally setting the offense loose.

Gunnar is not the answer. I would be shocked if the coaches bench him.

Gunnar needs to sit on the bench the first drive of the second half He won’t though, either the coaches believe there is no chance anyone on the team is a better QB than him or they are so beholden to sentimentalism they won’t make a change.

I mean, with the way some people on here talk about him, he must be a first year or redshirt QB with 3 more years, because surely a coaching staff wouldn’t stick with a QB that was still making rookie mistakes. Missed the humor… ur post WAS funny now that I read it that way. I needed a smile after this start. It’s all good, tone doesn’t really come through in text. I just want us to be great and while gunner is a decent QB he’s never been stellar. If our defense is not what it was last year then we will struggle to win games because they are the biggest reason last year turned out the way it did.

I think once Watson gets a little more experience he will be a really good QB. He just needs to work on ball security when scrambling and not staring down his receivers. He’s a 6th year senior with two years in this system - more experience?!? If the same offense of the first two weeks shows up, I think it will be a very difficult game. We only had two possessions of more than 3 minutes vs KSU who had 5 of over 3 minutes. In the Second half we didn’t have any drivers over two and a half minutes. It makes it very difficult for our defense to make it late into a game. We weren’t out of the game until close to halfway through the 4th when the defense wore down. So if the offense can make the changes they need to, whether in play or personnel, we should have firm control of the game. If not then it will probably a heartbreaker for us. You don’t trust in Craddock? I mean….

K-State guy here. Several poor calls that went in favor of Kansas State, no doubt. I know you guys didn’t play anywhere near what you’re capable of -especially the running game. OTOH, I was very pleased with how our front 7 did. Containing Vidal is obviously an extremely tall task. Likewise, I was impressed with your guys’ defense. Very good pass rush and pretty sharp coverage. A very frustrating day for our OL - but I can’t discount your all’s level of play up front. I think you guys will win a lot of ballgames this year. Win out and go play in a NY6, boys. You guys played really well and I’m sure will make another run. We had some really bright spots, but they weren’t enough to overcome our deficiencies to be really competitive in this game. Good luck to you guys the rest of the season.

42-13 but let’s blame the officials. How about the four straight 3 and outs to start the second half? How about the numerous 3rd and longs given up? How about the gift TD at the end of the first half? The officials sucked but they didn’t determine the outcome. I agree, we lost this game and it is so frustrating because it seems like the coaches won’t make changes when there could be better options. KSU is a good team that we should have been competitive with if the offense was playing on the same level as the defense. The refs were no where near the deciding factor in this game, but they did help shift momentum at a key moment. I hope the coaches don’t just blindly stick with starts because they are starters this year. If someone isn’t producing they need to have the guts to say next man up.

Horrible showing today. I think we're better than what we showed. Have to pick ourselves up and head into conference play. 100%. I was not impressed with Watson as a senior, I didn’t see much difference between him last year and this year. I don’t understand why the coaches are hell bent on sticking with him when there could be better options sitting on the bench. How many of our record setting QBs were found down the roster?

I will say this. The FS1 announcers, I am personally amazed they were able to talk so much being on their knees in front of K State all game. I am sure their jaws hurt I was talking with my dad about how much these announcers were drooling all over K State

No… based on that our defense has played well until they started to get worn out. If our offense had any level of production we would still be in the game. I mean I get if you’re upset that it took some help from the refs to change the momentum of the game for your team, but that’s no reason to act like a satchel of Richards. No amount of penalties would have keep troy in this. You saying this is denying reality. Troy played very well. I don't know why you have to cheapen it by blaming refs Did I say that penalties would have kept Troy in this? No, I’m pretty sure I didn’t. But when your team rips off our guys helmet and it’s not called allowing your team to get a first down then adding yards by calling a penalty on our guy adding extra yards which put you in scoring position vs possibly turning the ball over after being backed up with a penalty for hands to the face. If you don’t think that can be a huge momentum swing then you really are just a satchel of Richards.

Barry had some good information concerning the no call on the hands to the face to Solomon. Barry reports that the refs told coach he saw the play but "it wasn't intentional." So when K State just scored on their last possession Barry mentioned a hold on K State then quipped he didn't mean to. Lol. At least I can laugh about this game. Ohhh so penalties only count if they were intentional, that must be a new rule change for this year.

I understand what you mean, but the season started last week. This game is a lose that we should have had a real shot of winning. Based on what? A smaller, slower team? No… based on that our defense has played well until they started to get worn out. If our offense had any level of production we would still be in the game. Now that the game is pretty much out of any hope of winning can we try a different QB? If the coaches worried about hurting Watson’s feelings they can say it so he doesn’t get hurt.
