I dont think anyone is trying to tear down the conference. I think its just hard fact being stated. I think everyone can agree that we all want our program to get to the next nevel ( if possible) !! My comments about our conference has seemed to bring about some heated emotions/discussions. I was born and raised in Troy, a graduate, and a former employee as well as most of my family. I am well aware of the growth of Trojan athletics. I will always support my Trojans through thick and thin. Again, i think we all want the best for Troy University !!

I do think our football team is one of the best two teams in the conference. I do understand with our current support , school size, facilities, our small hometown , etc... we are pretty much destined to stay in the sunbelt. I think what happened to our program from 2011 to 2014 set us back for quite some time. I think were on the right path to eventually draw some attention to receive an invite to a better conference.

The Sun Belt Conference is the absolute bottom of all division 1 conferences. Always has been, always will be. That is just the cold hard TRUTH !! It is filled with teams who are new to Div 1 or fbs and the traditional stagnant programs (Ull, Ulm). Troy football by far is above all teams in the sunbelt as to championships, winning records, bowls, attendance, support etc.... As long as Troy is a member of this conference, we will never be able to achieve the next step of growing our program! One example is our bowl tie in. New Orleans is our reward for conference champion. Our “reward” for our champion is to play a 6-6 conf USA team !!! Hmmm. Ok, ok I'll bite, "just tell me which conference is asking for us to join them?" See the problem here? Lots of keyboard pontificators say things like this, but it isn't like a school can just knock on conference X's door and say, "hey, we're Troy and we're better than any of our conference, and we want in, NOW!" See the problem here? So funny that 24 months ago, at 4-8, no chatter of being better than.... Sunbelt IS where we need to be. What we need is a bigger piece and a better chance at the New Year's pie!

I think the white helmet has run its course. What happened to the red helmets from last season? I think its time to bring back a black one and maybe a gray one? And as always the red !!!

sorry, South is a bad team. If we had been prepared and some decent offensive play calling and with our talent level, we should have dominated South. They are not a good team.

Records can be misleading! As we saw Wednesday ... if we look at team that has poor record ... can't assume they're "awful" and will be easy to beat. Even Coastal ... they've been very close in I believe all of their games. As I've said ... any team in this conference can win any given week! As we say Wednesday ... it's about match ups and one on one battles. S. AL played us man and dared our QB and WRs to bealt them ... we couldn't. Honestly ... we should've thrown more bubble screens. It's like a toss sweep or an option ... if you look up and see that you have numbers, you go there! Our WRs haven't proven that they can beat descent DBs in their routes ... but they block well.  sorry, South is a bad team. If we had been prepared and some decent offensive play calling and with our talent level, we should have dominated South. They are not a good team.

Using words to describe what I witnessed last night is almost impossible. No energy, unprepared, etc... The milestone win in Baton Rouge that our program needed to continue to develop The Troy brand was erased by an embarrassing on field performance to a really bad football team on national television!! We keep hearing from coaches and players that the LSU win in a way isnt important in the “grand scheme” of season/conference play. Well, to win the conference, NO !!! , but to grow a program, YES !!!!!!! Winning our conference is very important , but in order to take our team to the next level these wins are paramount!! Again, that win was virtually negated by the sickening, pathetic, horrible on field play last night. It will effect recruiting, fan support, etc .. the list goes on and on !!!! The post game interviews with the players also is very disheartening. This continuing reason of “we didnt execute” although true, is just UNACCEPTABLE!!! We keep hearing about we still have six games left and we have to get better, although true, but again unacceptable attitudes to have. The loss last night was a season/ program killer !!
I am definitely not a college football coach and i dont have answers for these issues but i think we can all agree changes HAVE TO BE MADE!!!!!
I am a Troy native and a Troy graduate!! I will always be a Trojan !! I truly hope these players and coaches will evaluate this situation and make the necessary changes to salvage whats left of the season. Games like last night are tough pills to swollow!!!
