Does anyone have an idea of when some of these (I think there are seven or eight) coaching hires “per sources” will be confirmed by Troy University or Troy Athletics? I know the Holidays probably have delayed decisions with university personnel being off, but it would be nice to hear some positive news come out this week. While this silence has been deafening, the individual student-athletes making announcements regarding their departures has not‼️ Contracts and on going negotiations with some yet unnamed coaches likely delaying the announcements.

Screw our former coach. He can take a long walk off a short pier. And yes...Tulane can burn to the ground. If Tulane lined up to play ISIS, I'd be in the stands with a black flag and a white smudge. It’s a business decision. These guys have families to think about. That’s their first loyalty.

FSU back ups not too ready for Georgia Bowl games have lost all meaning. FSU lost this game before kickoff. It’s a shame. Georgia and FSU should have been a good game. Yep. Will ESPN step in and change the transfer rules?

I'll be surprised if Chris Lewis stays at this point. Unless he just really wants to stay close by so that his family can see him play.
And yes, we might as well go ahead and call 2024 a rebuilding year unless Gerad Parker pulls off a 10+ win miracle season. It's going to be difficult though.
This all looks very similar to what happened to Louisiana after their 13-1 season and lost their coach... they wound up losing most of their starters to the portal. They went 6-7 the next year.
He’s not going anywhere.

Adios. Honestly I don't care that guys leave because it's all business these days. This is why Gunnar is the GOAT though. Hopefully HCGP can bring in some pieces and keep this thing rolling. Gunnar probably is the last of a breed for a while. It will be odd not to see Gunnar’s daddy on game days. (He may still come) but that man never met a stranger. Gunnar was tough and while not perfect he will be missed. The sheriff is as cool as they come.

Will 2024 be a rebuilding year? I would say yes. This is going to be one of the the worst off seasons, in terms of lost players, at Troy in a long time. I also see Coach Parker is out there working hard so I’m all in on 2024.

Spot onâ¦â¦The Sun Belt Conference is the gateway to future stout contractsâ¦â¦Malzahn,Freeze,Harsin,Drinkwitz,Brown,Sumrall,Cignetti,Satterfield all profited handsomely by taking sun belt jobs. Fans thinking we were scraping the bottom of the barrel to hire Notre DameâÂÂs OC seems misguided I'm glad you are impressed by the title of Notre Dame OC. To quote Shania, that don't impress me much and that in no way means he'll be good at being THE man in the big chair.  So, in that "pros" column wishlist of what I want vs. what I got and some possibilities I liked more before AND once I knew who the hire was (which will answer your question, Hemi). Proven success at leading a college football program |||||||||| Proven success at running an offense at a notable school.  Bill Clark                                                               ||||||||||  (The HC we donât speak of) LindsayÂ
Rich Rodriguez Cadillac Williams*** Freddie Kitchens ***only an interim head coach but is currently more successful as interim than 0-6, particularly after each taking over a program basically in shambles.  This is just to name a few of my preferables and they're not in order and don't include coaches we know but have no HC xp which would expand my very impromptu and short list WAY further and still wouldn't have Parker's name show up yet. Were I to include coaches without HC xp, I think I might could arrive at 20 names before I hit Parker's. Sean Reagan, Gasperano (spelling intentional), Charles Kelly, and Matt Moore just to name a quick few before I head to Christmas lunch. We could argue the merits of each of these candidates and I'm certain every fan on this board would have their own reasons on why each of these would or wouldn't be a good fit but that wasn't Hemi's question.   And Parker might turn out to be better than our last coach! But to me, it is a complete roll of the dice on what is basically an unknown.  Clarkâs success is questionable at best at UAB. His success was built off of basically unlimited recruiting and minimal restrictions. You canât be serious about (The HC we don’t speak of). Rich Rod is a has been clinging on to his last hopes. Rich Rod 20 years ago? Bring him on. Im not sure Sean Reagan is ready to be head coach, but I would gladly take him as OC if we are in the market for one. Gasparado I think would have been a solid hire. Charles Kelly. No no no and never. Matt Moore I donât think will ever be a head coach. I think we had a legitimate search to find the man that best fits Troy and the Troy culture. That doesnât necessarily mean a Troy guy. Having said that your opinion carries the same weight as mine and everyone elseâs on here. The true judge of right and wrong will be measured in wins and losses.

It would take a lot to convince me we hired Parker because we really, really wanted to; meaning that he was in the 1) spot on that list Brent Jones keeps in his pocket. Or even in the top ten. Or was even ON the list until we burned through those who actually were on it and now we were down to the bottom of the barrel of who was left to pick from. It still makes zero sense to me. The only thing it seems he had going for him was he was in the camp of Brown and our last head coach. There was not anyone anywhere in the college football world who saw this Crazy Ivan move coming. And the reaction wasn't "WOW! Didn't expect that but now that we see it, WOW!" No, instead the reaction was MUCH the same as when we hired Fester. The faithful remnant swallowing hard, keeping it positive while keeping their reservations to themselves, and saying, "well, let's get behind it and hope for the best" and the OTHER faithful remnant scratching their heads and going "Really?...Seriously?...What just happened?" So, trouble hiring a coach at Troy? Yeah, I think that's definitely more than plausible. Are there a lot of coaches who would love to come to Troy? Sure! Are there a lot who would settle for what Troy has to offer when it's time to talk business? Well, I believe apparently not or someone else would be coaching at Troy. It is said that Texas A&M leaked Stoops name early before it was official to run it up the flagpole for the fanbase and see the reaction. The reaction was very sour and offer was withdrawn. We are not TX A&M. So we have to settle for a PR campaign from previous coaches and others to try to cajole support for our hire when the reaction from many has again been, "really?...seriously?...what just happened? Make a "pros" wishlist of what you would want in a head coach and compare that to the actual pros list we're getting with Parker and it would in NO way be an inspiring exercise. We have trouble hiring the coach we want at Troy. We have no trouble hiring any coach we can get at Troy. Even if this one seems like a Troy-Kinda-Guy. I’m not following your logic. What are you basing this conclusion off of that he was not the #1 pick? Who would you have had in your top 3?

Yeah, but JMU can’t keep a coach either.I’m not interested in how little we can get a good coach….ULM tries that every year.Jamie Chadwell probably could’ve increased his pay this year but Liberty fits his culture.Someone would stay for the Troy small town culture we just have to be closer on a counter offer.HCJS got a fanstatic contract Chadwell is getting paid ALOT at Liberty. It’s a very wealthy private school Spot on. They can write P5 checks.

Birmingham did a good job hosting! The pre game activities were really good and Troy did an excellent job last night and this morning! The stadium is nice to watch a game but getting in and navigating to goto concessions or the rest room is awful ! It’s a pretty neat venue with traffic on the Highway visible to the south and the low flying planes to the north ! I agree except for one thing. I don't know who designed the stadium, but why on this earth did they think it was a good thing to build it in such a way that entrance requires a walk UP 4 ramp levels to get to the top of the lower bowl only to walk DOWN to the field that is at street level. Yes. That entrance was a little odd to say the least. Also they are pretty limited on the bathrooms. Fan Fest was slow getting started, but it turned out to be fun. The Dread River Event was outstanding.

Coach Parker made a hell of a run at trying to keep Rusty! The school opened up the pocket book but at the end of the day he moved on. Thank you for your time here and wish you nothing but the best. He probably tripled his salary along the way! Well deserved! Having the extra money now to hopefully offer a strength coach should help us attract a high quality coach! we will be fine! I trust our leadership and our new coach! Go Trojans! Spot on.

Hypothetically, if one could get their family to leave Gatlinburg in time to at least make the second half, is one’s only option to buy on Ticketmaster? Can I still support Troy through Ticketmaster? [b Yes
