Utterly amazing. Red Wolves by two touchdowns.

Get North Dakota State on the horn. They need some games. After last week, no more teams west of the Mississippi for at least two weeks.

Are we doing it this year or did it get COVID canceled? 😅 Some of y'all usually have some good zingers going by now... Foosackly’s is the most overrated chicken place ever.

I think we’ll make some halftime adjustments, but we may be too far down for it to matter.

This ain’t the team from last week. This ain’t the same opponent, either.

We need to start stretching the field.

Good to see Legassey nail one. He's had a long road since halftime of the LSU game in 2017.

Sounds like we'll be 0-12 the way the calls are going against us so far.

Jones, as quoted by the Dothan Eagle: "At last count, this was our 196th schedule that we put together over the last three weeks or so. We left no stone unturned." That's dedication and grind. I am proud to call this university my alma mater.

This is a good schedule (except doubling up on MTSU) during a normal season, and an INCREDIBLE schedule given the circumstances. Hopefully it'll all come to fruition.

BYU & Troy

B+ on the effort. Troy looks to lose a enormous amount of money this year playing ball. I know we are not flush with cash, so we will need to pony up. I question flying across the country to play in an empty stadium for no financial payout. The 2026 Return home game makes it a little easier to swallow. For 2020 why not play regional teams ?? In terms of building for the future, a home game against BYU does more for our program than playing in state against Samford or other. Yeah we gotta travel out there this year and play in an empty stadium, but we did secure a TV slot on ESPN for this game. This is huge. If I could offer our AD some advice, keep going for the home and home and hit up big teams. I think the Big 12 is playing, so hit up Texas and see if they want a home and home. This.

... and y’all talk about playing MTSU twice. I’ll take BYU. This is the content I’m here for.

Since football is a land acquisition game, Troy gets to establish Amherst as a new campus, right?

I heard we are going with Famous Amos for the cardboard fans lol This is the kind of out-of-the-box thinking I’m here for.

After seeing a few MLB highlights, which Trojans would you like to see as cardboard cutouts if those are ever used to fill VMS?
You can base the answer on whatever: greatness, intimidation factor, etc. I lean toward intimidation factor or maybe unique options, so outside Bear Woods, I’m picking Will Goggans.
How about you?

I know it’s the musings of a CUSA writer, but this just sounds like the weaker conference wants to cut into the Sun Belt’s better positioning — if it were to happen. Personally I have no interest in this happening. The teams in the Sun Belt want to be in the Sun Belt except App fans, who seem to think that a top-25 football team coupled with mediocrity everywhere else warrants a “better” conference. I recall a day in Troy, after winning numerous Sunbelt Conference Championships, that many TroyFans felt the 'Belt wasn't good enough. True, but at least we could point to baseball as a strong sport. And that was before basketball fell off the planet, too.

I admit my memory sucks. However, I remember Jeremy McClain calling me out in a meeting at the Country Club and telling me not to put it on twitter yet, but we were finalizing a home and home with Army. I thought it was announced shortly after that. Am I the only one that thinks this was announced already? If I'm wrong, I'm wrong. Hemi or Adam will correct me for sure. I believe it was never announced. I do remember Stacy Long reporting that it was close to being a done deal awhile back.

With an RPI in the low 40s, this team was likely a win against Duke from getting into at-large bid territory. Amazing how far this program has come.
Winning two games negates the previous statement. It won’t be easy because it’ll likely require beating Little Rock a third time or facing a ULL squad that has beaten us. That said, UTA is on the other side of the bracket, and I’m glad because it’s the hot team right now. Coastal will likely have its hands full there.

I never considered fielding in the assessment of this team’s Regional chances because I can’t remember a time when Troy struggled with errors. There’s a first for everything, I guess.

I’ve noticed a trend during this series. Whenever we removed starting pitching (on both Friday and Saturday), the whole thing fell apart. I think that Levi Thomas should’ve easily been left in longer on Friday Night. It’s also predictable as to when Coach Smartt will walk to the mound and remove the starter. Levi was up to 108 pitches at the time. You may get one more inning later in the year, but it’s too early to stretch you best guy that much.

Not only on to NOLA, but a bye straight into the semis. That is huge. Win two in NOLA, and the Trojans punch the NCAA ticket. This group could very well win a game or two in the Big Dance, especially if it gets a 12 or 13 seed.

Lost 3-2 game one but three costly errors. 10-7 loss in game two but five errors. Hitting the ball well but errors are killing us This series, so far, shows the Trojans can hit like a MLB squad, pitch like a strong mid-major college squad and field like a Dixie Youth squad. This team has the talent to make some noise, and I fully expect them to make a regional if injuries don’t pile up. These last two games could be great teaching points about what it takes to finish off top competition moving forward. These results could define what might be a really special season.

10-3 after the first two weeks. I'm sure some of you are burned up at the success. 10-3 is a great start. I just wish we could actually beat a good P5 team for once. Clemson got spanked by Villanova, who we just beat. Yet Clemson absolutely murdalized us. 2-1 over No. 16 South Carolina today on the road. Trojans get another shot tomorrow.
