Troy Athletics announced today a 4-Year extension for Men's BB Head Coach Scott Cross!
> 3 straight 20-Game winning Seasons. > Troy is only SBC team with 3 Current Consecutive 20-win Seasons. > 13 Regular Conference Wins this year are the most in 16 years! > HCSC was the recent target of several P-5 and G-5 programs based on his career success.
A solid decision IMO.

The contract includes increased “budgetary support”. It’ll be interesting to see what that looks like. Given that the assistant staff salary pool was also increased and that we have the best arena in the conference and one of the best in midmajors its size keeps it from being at the top), I would think this means more NIL money.

"Alston Money" may be the implication here??? NIL $ will most definitely impact all G5 programs.

Alston money is only a few years old and like cost of attendance (COA) is another form where student athletes can receive funds directly from the university. From On3 sports Alston awards can provide athletes with up to $5,980 annually. Alston awards don’t receive the same media attention as NIL deals, but they could prove to be even more financially lucrative for a greater number of Division I athletes across all sports

I'm very happy to see this.
Only coach Troy has ever had to get three straight 20-win seasons. I like Troy basketball winning more than losing.
Cross will eventually get the right combination of players in... and we're going to see a monumental season unfold.
I still look at UTA's 2017 season under Cross... going 27-9, beating #12 St. Mary's, Texas, and BYU, and winning the SBC title. It can happen at Troy too.

Next year hopefully we see all the groundwork and these 3 20-win seasons payoff and we find ourselves playing in the NCAAT.
