I want to personally take his time to say thank you to our amazing football team, coaches and staff for an amazing football season. I personally believe that this 2023 Football Team was much improved over our 2022 team which ended the football season being ranked in all major polls.
To our Seniors, you have left a very strong tradition which Troy University is known for. I am hurt that your team didn't get the final honors which you wanted to achieved; however, you made our Great University proud and it was an honor to be in Birmingham, Alabama to watch you fight through so many adversities which our University have always overcome.
To our upcoming Seniors, the roadmap has been established and the College Playoff is the GOAL for 2024-2025. We are the BEST Sunbelt Conference Team, We are one of the TOP G5 Program in the Nation, We ARE Troy TROJANS.

Well said. This senior class has been through the highs and lows of Troy Football. Gunnar actually played for 3 head coaches, 3 strength coaches and 3 different OC’s. The OL played for 5 OL coaches if you count the bowl game. They persevered and set the tone for what Troy football can be. As bad as the loss to Duke sucks, I woke up this morning reminding myself we won 11 games this season and 23 in the past two seasons. That’s incredible and we have our seniors to thank for that.
The future is bright. I look forward to seeing who GP brings in for this staff and what we can do over the course of this next year.

Remember in 2021 things looked bleak. We went from winning the conference championship and upsetting teams like LSU and Nebraska on the road to not being able to win more than 5 games a season and getting blown out at home. Some of us didn't know how long it would take Sumrall to salvage the program. Fast forward two years and we're back-to-back conference Champs, we achieved the highest AP ranking in school history, we even were the first in conference history to challenge a Power 5 school. And while I hate that our seniors got robbed of a victory because of some incompetent officials there is still so much to be proud of.
I am proud that this group of seniors who were on the team during the lowest of lows stuck with the team and their loyalty was rewarded by becoming Champs. Thank you for all your dedication.
The future is uncertain now and that's scary for most of us. We don't know this new coach and his style. We don't what expectations to have. But I know one thing for certain: Troy's best days are still ahead and I am on board for the ride.
