With a new head coach named, does anyone know if Coach Gas still runs the bowl game? Any insight on who stays or goes from the assistant coaches? Go Troy and See you in Birmingham.

I doubt any new head coach wants to come in with less than a week to prepare and take on any serious role in the game. I expect we see him on the sidelines to make an appearance and wave to the fans but not wearing a headset.

Gerad Parker will not be coaching. He might be there to watch, but he won't coach.
As for assistants, I don't think many know who stays or goes... but seeing as Jon Sumrall hasn't actually hired any outsiders for his staff yet after nearly two weeks... I'd say it's a safe bet that most of our staff, at least the coordinators, are likely to be heading to Tulane after the bowl game is over.
It's possible there are a coaches that are left though. It appears Bam Hardmon (DL coach) may not go to Tulane, because Sumrall has retained Tulane's DL coach.
It's also possible that Gerad Parker offers someone like Taylor Polk the DC job, and Troy retains staff via promotion. It's hard to say really.

I don’t know if we can keep Polk, but if so that would be huge!!

Does anyone know anything on if Whitt will be staying? He has been a vital part of the program's success.

I think all of us feel the same thing to an extent. The old end of a summer camp, a graduation or a child moving out of the house. We all liked what we had and now, as with everything, things change. Sometimes for the better and sometimes not. Yet, they still change. All we can do is really appreciate the good moments as they happen. Since family is the most important part, enjoy your Christmas with as close a family as you can find. Start with going to the Birmingham Bowl and show your appreciation for the crew (coaches and players) that have given some great moments. Again, ole Forrest Gump was pretty right when he said: "Life is like a box of chocolates, you never know what you are going to get."
Make the most of it by having a heart of gratitude. So long seniors and coaches it has been FANtastic!!

I'd think there's a chance we retain some of our supporting staff since so many kids stayed committed yesterday but I could be wrong thinking that way. That is a blow though because it's another coach to be worried about.
I think Craddock would work well under Parker's system if he sets up an offense like he did at ND. Could also set Craddock up to be a future HC if Parker has 2-3 years of success and then leaves.

Many coaches will follow Jon, and some will choose to go somewhere else. Parker's philosophy will differ from Sumrall's, and he will have coaches of his own that he will bring in instead of retaining everyone he can for the sake of. It would not be unexpected or unusual if we have a completely new staff.

Nothing will be said about coaches prior to the game but Parker told me explicitly there are guys he wants to retain on the staff. Obviously didn't say who, but his mind is there.

Think Parker has his thumb on what he want on offense. Craddock has improved but is average, and is he really HC material ? A lot of folks doubt that. Coach Gas light years ahead on that front. Yea would want to keep more but like 05 said some are already agreed to go with Sumrall and Parker will let some go to bring in his own peeps. How the world works.

Looks like Dontae Wright from West Virginia might be tabbed as new DC according to football scoop and some WVU sites.
