To much EMCC for my taste. I'd rather hire our DC Lord no, Lesley is not head coach material. WV fans are wanting to replace him as the DC. Not saying he it, just was agreeing he would get a look.

Dark horse name that I would like to get a shot - Corey Dennis. Currently the QB coach at Ohio State, his dad Steve Dennis was the AD during Blakeney era. Great young offensive mind and one of the top recruiters in the country.
I think Jordan Lesley would be a good option, high energy guy and relentless recruiter. Would be another defensive head coach.

He is a winner though. Just won a state championship in 3 years a at a school that has rarely been good. Sumrall brought a ton of energy and motivation. Need another guy that can keep that going Hudspeth = (The HC we don’t speak of) (The HC we don’t speak of) 2.0. His history has been very similar to the shenanigans (The HC we don’t speak of) was accused of at Troy and this year heâs been in hot water over a cheating scandal in Gulf Shores. Iâd feel the same way about hiring him that I did when we hired (The HC we don’t speak of). No thanks! Not sure who the hot name would be. Sumrall was a pretty clear favorite if I remember correctly. Not sure that thereâs as clear a choice this time around. Weâll land on our feet though. Always great to be a Trojan!

He's not even a good DC let alone a HC. I'd take our DC over him anyday and twice on Sunday

So was Rush Probst. Character matters and him and Hudspeth have zero

Regardless of who Troy hires, it’s going to be difficult to follow a winner like JS. Unless, it’s a proven program builder and sustainer like Rich Rod (yes, I know he had his downs too). Y’all know a successful coach is only going to be around 2 to 3 years.

The odds of just finding a successful coach all the time is tough enough

By the way Scott Frost would not be too bad. He was snake bit and a half at Nebraska and lately it has been a tough place to recruit. We could do much worse on the dufus/loser scale (see Fester)

It will be fantastic if we can just keep hiring a new coach and winning championships and replacing them every two years but the odds are not great

The AHSAA has been investigating them all season because of recruiting violations. Questionable ethics and character from what I’ve heard over the last 10 years or so. To be fair I’ve never met the man and I’m going on what I’ve heard from AL HS coaches that I have spoken with in casual conversations. I also can remember some pretty low class behaviors while he was the HC at ULL. Maybe it’s poor taste to judge someone on here however, that is the conversation at hand right? Just my two cents though.

This. I’d take him in a second. He did a fantastic job at Auburn after the Hardin debacle.

Pony up about $1Mill extra per year and we might have a chance.

Maybe, but if we're going to be in a situation where we got to pay three to five million to keep a coach we are in trouble. Troy only has so much money no matter how far we can stretch it. I'm just hoping Brent gets another slam dunk higher and we can keep this up every 2 to 3 years

UNA the year before 4 wins. In 2 seasons they won conference, played in semifinals and won 13 games. ULL won 3 or 4 games the year before - then had 4 straight 9 win seasons. Austin Peay - won conference championship in the first year- also the first time the school had ever won conference He is a winner though. Just won a state championship in 3 years a at a school that has rarely been good. Sumrall brought a ton of energy and motivation. I get that some people believe that “if you ain’t cheating you ain’t trying.” I just don’t buy that. Maybe I’m naive though. Either way, he’s not be my first or second choice 😂
