I qualify what I’m about to say by saying we basically played a scrimmage against U of Ft Lauderdale.
We’re longer than we’ve been. We have 3 really good big guys, and by that I mean tall with reach. Thomas Dowd, a Jr transfer named Theo Seng, and a true center 6’7”, wide bodied Randarious Jones. Dowd will likely be used as an outside shooter and board crashing rebounder, Seng and Jones as inside bigs. We have two brothers, Marcus and Myles Rigsby, So and Fr respectively that are legit athletes. Myles had 11 pts and 4 rebounds. That’s 22 pts and 12 boards for a pair of true FR in Dowd and Rigsby. Put all this with Spud Eugene, Ahmer Muhamed, and Jackson Fields returning, I think we are improved and will be fun to watch.
I'm no BB expert, I just enjoy watching and these are the things I observed today. I'd be interested to see what some of you who were able to make the game think. Agree? Disagree? Other thoughts?

I was at the game yesterday and thought the same thing. I thought we had a rough first half shooting wise but played better in second. I think we saw good things from newcomers and you left out the top scorer in Tayton Conerway. I think Myles Rigsby is going to be good. I"m interested to see how we fare tomorrow night against Ohio.

Indeed, I was remiss in leaving out Conerway. I would say he quietly led the scoring, no amazing shots, no heroics, he just dropped shots in a workman like manner and when it was over, was the top scorer. I'm from Dothan, so I was very interested in Dowd. Talk a bout 1st game jitters, he didn't score his first points until just over 14 minutes left in the 2nd half, even going 0-3 from the FT line. Once he dropped the first one though, he took off. I was also interested in seeing Rigsby, I remember when he committed, there was a buzz on here about him. I didn't know anything about Seng or Jones, but they stood out. Seng isn't your prototypical "big" but he's tall, long, and able and willing to get inside and play that gam. Ohio will be a good indicator, I think, of what we have headed into the season.

I'm not sure what to think.
It was hard to gauge against a Ft Lauderdale team that seemed to get gassed pretty easily after halftime.
I think they've got a good, cohesive group that plays well together. Connerway is legit.
I'm not sure if the team is as athletic as they were last year. Or maybe they are?
Either way, everything looked good. We'll definitely know where we stand against Ohio.
