My schedule just freed up and I'm now able to attend the Battle for the Belt...
Of course all the good hotels are booked up.
Those of you in Troy, or those who have stayed in Troy Hotels, which is the best option from the following (they all scare me):
Econo Lodge (6.8 out of 10 and mixed online reviews) Quality Inn (6.2 out of 10 and mixed online reviews) Baymont by Wyndham (6.6 out of 10 and mixed online reviews)
OR would you just get out of town?
Thanks for the help!!

Thanks for the help!! From someone that has stayed in all three because of last minute schedule changes...
I'd probably pick Baymont Inn. It is decently updated inside and clean. The outside looks a bit dated, but the inside isn't too bad. They also have the most expansive continental breakfast of the three.
Econo Lodge would be next. I debated it being #1. It's also been updated inside and is pretty clean for a budget hotel. Their breakfast offering was the only reason I didn't put them #1.
The Quality Inn has gotten better I think... but it'd be last on my list. You never know what you'll get at the Quality Inn. Could be nice and clean, or it could be underwhelming with shady people staying near you.

Some good news on the subject of hotels.... Troy will finally be getting a new hotel adjacent from Baumhower's Grille, near Publix if I'm not mistaken. It looks like they've already leveled out the land for it.

Coming from the North, so leaving Troy the next best thing would be Montgomery.

Thanks for the help!! With those three options, I only have personal experiences with two of them, EconoLodge and Quality Inn. It ONLY took one stay at Quality Inn to say, never again!! EconoLodge we considered our "home away from home" for about 15 years for Troy Athletic events that required overnight stays (multiple sports at home, baseball season, basketball on occasion) UNTIL about two years ago. EconoLodge kept getting worse and worse even with "the lipstick they had been putting on the pig" updates. Last time we stayed there it was definitely a hotel for workers in town due to the construction boom in Troy. Our recommendation IF you are traveling through Montgomery would be to select one of the hotels on Eastchase Parkway near The Shoppes at Eastchase. Your post game meal is going to be there anyway if you don't eat at Santa Fe (might be closed if delays due to game on TV) or Waffle House in Troy

Coming from the North, so leaving Troy the next best thing would be Montgomery. If you're coming from the North I would suggest staying in Prattville. It's only an extra 10 minute drive and much safer of an area.

Coming from the North, so leaving Troy the next best thing would be Montgomery. We come from HSV and normally stay in Montgomery. Any hotel in Eastchase will be good. The La Quinta was very nice. Whatever you do don’t stay at the days inn in Prattville.

Between Montgomery and Troy. I think they used to have hourly rates posted on the sign out front.

View AttachmentBetween Montgomery and Troy. I think they used to have hourly rates posted on the sign out front. I dated a girl from Brundidge whose parents spent their honeymoon there. Nice girl and nice family. Insufferable bama fans though. Speaking of Relax, my uncle owned a resort called Relax. It was north of Troy and had tennis courts, swimming pool, a lake. By the time I came along, it was no longer running and was slowly being reclaimed by nature.
