Since there is a real possibility that JMU may finish undefeated, would they host the CCG even though they would not be eligible to play? Also if it is GA ST wins the East, would we host since we beat them H2H? Just trying to figure out what is possible

Question 2 first. As I understand it, the division champion with the highest CFP ranking following the final game of the regular season will host the championship game, regardless of H2H results. If we finish the season tied with GA State (or anyone else), ranking would determine host. You’d think that in that situation, H2H would matter in the final rankings, but there’s no guarantee.
As to question 1, just like last season, JMU won’t host the title game, even if they “win” the East. They are ineligible for any type of postseason play until 2024,

Thank you, I was curious cause the date for the CCG would fall on my anniversary and she has expressed interest in spending our anniversary at the game in Troy if possible.

Best record hosts. H2H is first tiebreaker and then CFP ranking.
JMU not eligible to host or play.

Any chance they ever go to a neutral site like P5 and the MAC do? Not sure where?

I just remember last season there was a lot of discussion regarding CFP ranking. You are correct. We didn’t play Coastal so if both teams ended up 7-1 it would have gone to that and game would have been in Conway.

Any chance they ever go to a neutral site like P5 and the MAC do? Not sure where? Not a good option unless MUTS or WKU are added back then Nashville would be in play. Nashville just sucks with traffic control for events big or small. Atlanta would work if SEC moves from Atlanta, New Orleans just sucks all around and new stadium in Bham sucks majorly bad.

No. You need to home team fans to make it look halfway decent.

So where would it stand right now as for the conference host? Troy The East Rep will likely be in game but not the East winner so a home host if we win out is a fact.
