His behavior no matter what the students were saying is poor. However, I can’t see why they have not had a waiver after one year. There seems to be few old rules followed. I would like to get a second chance with them if we are fortunate enough to get there. This will not occur no matter what their record will be. I hope they lose a couple because the worst would be them running the table and us winning out and listening to their UCF claim to the title. Maybe the worse thing is a whole lot worse than that but it sure would be annoying to have the asterisk by a championship. Now with that said: next game and forget the matter because it is done did! Well, it wasn't quite done for me. It ticked me off honestly because he is/was displaying a horrible example for his student athletes and they deserve better. And I said as much in an email to him, his school president, his defensive coordinator, his AD, and the Director of Football Operations. I had a reply back within 40 minutes from him and another from the defensive coordinator about an hour or two after that. I'll respect their privacy with each one's reply but I will tell you that you can safely bet six figures in Vegas that what happened Saturday will never, ever happen again in his career as a coach at JMU or anywhere else for that matter. I appreciated their response. I'm sure it wasn't an easy reply to send for either of them. I am glad you took the time to do that. Plus glad it appeared as though there is a bit of a Mia culpa. I meant our team and support forward for forgetting JMU game but again I am glad you took that step. Now on to WKU.

They can laugh about it while they're sitting on their couch watching us play our bowl game later this year. His behavior no matter what the students were saying is poor. You can take taunting too far. I've been all over the country watching football games and the Southeast has a reputation for the worst fans. Kansas State applauded when Lewis made a spectacular grab; Nebraska applauded when our players left the field; there's no reason to be nasty, threatening, vulgar, or anything else that is intended to degrade, intimidate, or incite a like response. Good natured ribbing is fine. I sat with some Missouri fans one year and we went back and forth all game. No one got out of line and we all enjoyed the game and wished each other well at the end/ I'd rather have our fans applaud our opponents, invite them to tailgate, thank them for giving us 4 hours of competition, and wish them a safe trip home.

As we exited The Vet, a few JMU students (at least their age) said some stuff to myself and family. I shook each of their hands, looked them in the eye and said: “Thank you for making the trip. We are happy yall are in the conference.”

All of us know that students can escalate pretty rapidly. Honestly, it is upon the adults to kind of be the cadmium rods of the reaction that can easily get out of hand. But good ribbing and a little gloating is ok. College football with a passion is going to have it. A few years ago, Jimbo Fisher before leaving FSU got into with his OWN fans at a game. He showed the maturity of hothead that he did not control. I am not saying I have never done that but what he did and what JMU coach did are just two examples. It will happen again, and security should always be ready for the student section to perhaps have a little more "fission" going on and get out of hand.
WKU blood blob drops are up and I think we and the students will be as well.!!!

We are happy yall are in the conference.” I go out of my way to welcome opposing fans. I always park by Sorrell chapel. There were a bunch of JMU fans having a tailgate in that parking lot and I went over and welcomed them. Turns out several of them are actually living in Enterprise. Hopefully, they had a good time and perhaps would come back to another Troy game. I don't see them as some sort of enemy and sometimes I think a lot of fans do. I don't make a good "rivalry" type fan. LOL I'd much rather be known for kindness and respect like was mentioned about KSU and Nebraska than I would for being nasty. In the comments section of the X video of the event there's a lot of folks basically saying we got what we dish out and apparently Troy has the rep of being a bit of a bully of a fan base. I don't want my university to be known for that. I really wish someone would address the Troy students on their behavior but not only is that improbable, I know that'd go over like a lead balloon. Good-natured ribbing in a sportsman-like fashion is all well and good but I'm sure the students were being pretty ugly to solicit that response from a coach. It's part of it and though they should know better and show better upbringing, they are the students. He was the adult in the room, so to speak, and should have shown that.

Out of curiosity, anyone know what the students said that got him so animated ? Simple ribbing about his hair or looks ? Or were they calling his mama names ? Or worse ?

I spent several years sitting next to the students at Troy. They are tame compared to many of them out there. Sat near the MUTS student section a few years ago. They were almost to a man and woman and repulsive, vulgar, insultive, and down right disgusting from the first thru the fourth quarter. They ability to be disgusting for that long a period was almost impressive but their vocabulary was generally limited to about 20 obscene words. However, I forgave them seeing as how their gene pool was lacking a few chromosomes and their education was limited at MUTville U to being paper trained.

I was in the band when we played Nebraska. Their fans were SO nice. They loved that we went to the game because they, like, never got to see visiting bands.
