My only concern with this article is about how HCJS came to Troy. Jack and Brent can yap all they want about how We needed this and HCJS fit the bill. We all know that HCJS is the coach at Troy because of this message board. He was the board favorite when Jack and the other AD hired Fester. Some of us bailed on the bald blunder during the first season and were begging for Sumrall. So Jack and Brent can say what they want, but we chose HCJS. And that’s a fact Jack.

That article just motivates me. We are so fortunate to have Coach Sumrall. Great things coming again this season.

You have some valid points but Brent didn't hire the bald blunder. I will give Brent credit that he took input from former players and JS was in the top two names they wanted from talking to some that were in on the meeting. Cue Ball was solely on Hawkins imo

My point is, that they should have listened to this board the first time and it would have saved a lot of money. It may all work out in the end however. If HCJS goes and chases fame and fortune, it may be at the same time XHCNB is leaving WVU. The winning formula at Troy is known. You can make a long career of winning seasons and retire a legend if you decide you want to live and coach at one of the last pure college football schools.

Millions of dollars are hard to turn down to make $800,000 a year. Yes $800,000 is about 10 times what I make but how many people ever get the opportunity for $3,000,000 to $5,000,000 a year? Even in NB, $3,600,000 for the last four years. Even if WVU fires him he has a very nice nest egg for his family

I'm working toward being able to retire in Troy with maybe a side gig at LM, Kimber, or TU. That being said, adjunct profs make very little money and so I will need a tidy nest egg and a steady supply of delicious Jones Oxygen to keep me going.

Hypothetical Question.
IF... Jon Sumrall leaves around the same time Neal Brown gets fired from WVU (IF that even happens)... would you take him back as HC at Troy? Or would you want Troy to hire someone else?

What happened with the previous coach was kind of weird too.
