Just took a gander at the current 2023 class. Anyone else notice only 2 players measure under 6 feet?

The days of small and quick are over at TROY. Big, powerful, bruising athletes are the order of the day and by the time the roster is full of them, we will be a force to be reckoned with.

We'll be missing that 5'8' Linebacker fo sho! I couldn't agree more. Carlton was a generational talent for Troy and I don't know when we'll see his equal, if ever. But it's obvious that Jon and Co. prefer taller guys all over the field (although as you said, they'd take as many Martials as they could sign).

Just imagine if Jon gave us 5 years. That roster in year 5 would look like the Monstars from Space Jam.

I would rather have the ability to control the ball and the clock, to pound our opponents into submission, and to win 17-10 rather than having to rely on “last shot” to win a 49-42 track meet. I’ll watch BB Dec-Mar🤷♂️

I’ll watch BB Dec-Mar🤷♂️ air raid is flashy, but look at the last few NC and you will see that, power football wins still Air raid offenses allow teams that don’t have the size and power of the top tier teams to better compete with those larger teams. By scoring quickly, it makes it possible to keep up as the larger, “plodding” teams work up and down the field. However, when both teams run an an “Air Raid” spread type offense, what you have is two teams scoring on almost every possession and doing so at such a pace that 49-45 games are the result. When a team is able to make 3-4 stops on defense and still score 3-4 times themselves, AirRaid becomes ineffective. As we demonstrated this season, if you can play defense, you don’t have to score 50 to win.
