What are we doing to proactively keep HCJS in Pike County? Does anyone know the terms of his existing contract? Any idea if an extension or raise is coming his way?

Not really a Message Board AD's responsibility but several on here may or may not know the contractual terms. You might contact AD Brent Jones for the facts. I'd guess there are performance incentives built in to HCJS contract, fairly standard for HC contracts nowadays.

Don’t know why people keep bringing this up. But again, there is nothing Troy can do. If JS keeps winning, a major P5 school will offer him. Currently these contracts are at the $5 million + range. With that, these coaches also want to compete at the highest levels. It’s in their DNA. These are two things that Troy just can’t compete against.

There is nothing wrong with a community rallying around their champion. Cornhole needs to go rake Coach’s yard.

Agree with your intent but word choice just camp.

1. Offer him whatever raises Troy can afford, including staff raises.
2. Get the facilities - **cough** IPF - in place to help the team.
3. Let him know how much we appreciate him.
That's about all we can do.

Remember HCNB? For every reward comes a price. That reward is conference championships, P5 wins and bowl victories. The price is our coaches get poached. Just pray our leadership chooses wisely when the time comes. In the mean time enjoy the ride and know when HCJS time comes to move on he will have left us in better shape than we were before he got here.

I’m sure he got quite a few bonuses this year for getting X amount of wins as well as winning the SBC and getting to a bowl. His over all salary probably increases automatically from that I’d imagine? That’s similar to how NBs contrast read.
I’d also imagine if he does all the again next or or even more, Brent would issue a contract extension next year.
