Each year the clown on this board yap about bowl payout and how much TMTDM getting. Just when Mr. Ho get away board suck Mr. Ho back into abyss.
PLEASE, this is last time he explain.
Bowl Payouts are based on HOW MANY TICKETS TMTDM SELL. You think Cure Bowl just writes a $550,000 check to TMTDM?
The more tickets TMTDM sells the less money TMTDM loses. Bowl game for TMTDM are for the most part money losing ventures.
Only clown that make money on Cure Bowl are one or two hotels, liquor distributors and Tourism and Convention organizations. Oh and Jones Oxygen Supply - the official CPAP Provider of TMTDM. He charge a premium for oxygen or get's trade out. Either way he flying first-class to Orlando, stay at team hotel and drink top-shelf cool refreshing alcohol all weekend. Probably mix-in trip to the House of Mouse with family. But Ho digress.
Ho not think even ESPN make money on Cure Bowl - it's packaged with other minor bowls and sold to advertisers. And ESPN set time for each game...it's called filling out programming. Bowl games are like reality TV only real. An 11am game from the Bahamas might not make sense for the Dungeon & Dragons crowd on this board, but it makes perfect sense for ESPN. They are actually probably giddy about having TMTDM play UAB-San Antone at 3pmEST because it rolls perfectly into Sports Center followed by NBA games. Cure Bowl this year might actually break 1.0 in the ratings but Ho doubt it. So from 11am until 11pm ESPN has a full schedule of real events. Meanwhile on FS1 they have Skip Bayless and Colin Cower reruns just talking about sports. So EVERY TV in Walk-ons or Dave & Buster or whatever bar will be on ESPN and EVERY TV in EVERY Sportsbooks will be on the TMTDM game.

As always Ho you hit the nail on the head. I was thinking about posting the same thing on FB. Everyone sees payout and assumes it’s instant cash.

So, my take away is that HO you will have to come back over and over to explain this. Outside the New Years Six Bowls most bowls are money LOSERS for schools. However, I have to thank you for posting about Jonesy. To think that he is the official CPAP provider leaves others the opportunity to sneak in as the OFFICIAL BIPAP provider. Opportunity awaits the first hot dog vendor who figures out how to wheel around a machine attached to it! Jonsey may get a cut on the O2 with it but hey opportunity knocks. Plus, we will probably lose money on the bowl. Particularly since I can not attend but Troy does have my 60 buck down payment to work with at this point. Dear Brent: don't spend it all in one place.

We might not have the crowd we did in NOLA, or Mobile but the alumni I know in the Cent-S FL area are going and maybe it gets them engaged again as many of them can't make the drive to Troy. I know personally around 20 going. Winning breeds excitement

And winning is contagious. Our basketball programs (both unfortunately this year) could use some of that energy going into conference play.
