I have a question about seating. We are trying to put together a Troy Football trip for the 3-6 grade boys at our church. Homecoming this year is October 12, game time is 2:30. How brutal is it likely to be in Section 207/209 for that game? Those seats are upper deck, visitor's side. The other option is the Southern Miss game, which is 2 weeks earlier but a 6:30 kick. From a comfort only standpoint, which of those games would be better for a group of 12-16 boys that age and dads/chaperones?

I would bring sunscreen and pass out some cheap sunglasses. I think the sun will be your biggest concern.

The USM game still should be nice in evenings and you will not have to explain to the kids why a Homecoming Person might be crowned.

The administration, however, would not move to prevent it and, if the students vote that way, will allow the vote to stand. After all, the SOS had to rewrite the fanfare. That alone tells you where the leadership lives.

Maybe one day we will again play it and say: Guess what folks it was used for a long time and not A ONE ever thought about a basis of what the musical notes meant at anyone time to anyone. It worked and was good and maybe one day we will all come to our senses and note that once it is gone it is hard to restart it. The whole note ........hold to cover the gap of the dixie few notes is like placing a duh in every sentence. Not necessary and just plain sounds dumb. If it must stay away then at least fill with some other collection of notes that sounds like someone being articulate instead of ....uh...duh...you know what I mean.... duh uh...then start your sentence again.

I once advocated the replacement of TSOTS with an iPod. If they are back to sucking or if they are too woke, I will kickoff that campaign again.

I like SOTS and think they add a great deal to the atmosphere. Look forward to how they perform this year.

I like SOTS and think they add a great deal to the atmosphere. Look forward to how they perform this year. I love them too when they are TSOTS. I seem to remember one year they played The monkey wrapped his tail around the flagpole. I also remember that year they didn't march at halftime because they were prepping for a band competition. Look man... my memory runs together after 40+ years of sitting back and relaxing, but I remember a time when they went off the reservation and I loathed them.

They also stopped playing Are You From Dixie because someone, somewhere, *may* complain. Nothing about either of those songs were racial but they were changed. I wonder if someone complained or was the Administration trying to get ahead of a problem that didn't exist?

There is way too much of it going on in society and football is our release.

If SOTS starts trying to get the wave started in the stadium during pivotal drives again this season, I will need to be escorted from the stadium.
