Last I saw, Troy had sold over 10,000 season tickets. I believe the record is 10,693.
Surely we're getting close. I hope we can do it. I know people that have been buying season tickets that have never done so before.
I find it funny that Troy sold the most season tickets ever while (The HC we don’t speak of) (The HC we don’t speak of) was head coach.... that just goes to show you how good our athletic department is if they can make THAT happen...

There was hope that talent was enough. We all knew better but still.

When I bought my first season tickets in 1995, capacity at The Vet was 12,500. Oh, how far we've come!

When I bought my first season tickets in 1995, capacity at The Vet was 12,500. Oh, how far we've come! My bad. In my old age, my memory is failing me. In 1995 the capacity was 12,000. The 1998 expansion took the capacity to 17,500. I know this is insignificant as it relates to my post, but I'm a little OCD about being accurate. I guess that comes from years of making sure my work documentation will hold up in a malpractice court.

I was failing drunk in those stands in 1995. By 1996 I'm sure Troy had kicked me out.

I also remember in one of the late 90s playoff years (‘95 or ‘98, maybe) portable aluminum bleachers were placed behind the North endzone to increase capacity for a playoff game. The place was PACKED. Somebody help me out. Was that the Ga Southern game in ‘95?

I may develop dementia and forget how to feed myself, but I won't forget seeing that 2 pt conversion attempt get picked off in the corner of the south end zone.

I would love to attend more Troy games but living three plus hours away, would prefer to stay overnight when late games are played. However, the local hotels jack up their rates so much it’s ridiculous. I know this is just business and they’re making up for the off season, but it sure would be nice to not have to shell out a lot of money on overnight stays. Thankfully, the ticket prices are reasonable even if the hotels aren’t.
Maybe Troy can build an on campus hotel, especially for alumni that offer reasonable rates.

We do not speak of that game. Ever. True story... a drunken buddy of mine decided to give Coach Blakeney a piece of his mind. Coach was listed in the phonebook and so my buddy decides to call just before midnight. Coach answered and my buddy froze up. We all laughed as he dropped the phone down fast.

Local Troy hear-tell of plans to build ho-motel-restaurant with condominimums on upper floors. Across from Vet. Talk is cheap thus far.

It's not a bad drive even after a late game (and is pointing in the right direction for the drive home) and rates are far more reasonable.

Not NEARLY enough hotels in Troy to accommodate a a few thousand visitors. Luckily, a new one is going to be built near Publix.

Well that is unfortunate. I know that's where you hang. Hopefully they get a new spot that isn't further away.

Oh there are plans for a courtyard where Hemi will hang.and tailgate. I have heard the rooms will have either stadium view or loin cloth view.

I heard when they were tossing around names for views the stadium view was consistent and they toyed with mountain oyster view but that did not fly.

Imagine the trauma we can inflict on opposing fan bases by subjecting them to the “Loincloth View”. That would take them out of the game as early as Friday night.

Who knew Hemi could be the secret weapon against the opposition fans. Could back fire. More Troy fans choosing that side of the hotel? Just no accounting for tastes!!!
