I have noting to post but we will have A LOT of things that deal with Fall Camp that will need a place. All I want to say at this point is WELCOME to the GAME side of HCJS and his group that HE has put together. GO TROY!!!!

Offensively we will run the ball the majority of the time. The more camp proceeds the more that will come into focus. We will sling the pill around as needed. Say 65/35 favoring the run.

Saint I hope we are effective in what you say. It is seldom where a passing game opens a running game (unless you have Aaron Rogers). However, many teams have the opposite. You must have the run as a threat to keep D’s honest.

The OL depth that HCJS and crew has built will help with the run focused pro spread that we will employ. Big TE/receivers who can run block down field will also be a huge advantage.

I don’t have any facts, but I can use reasoning to assume that there is a higher level of optimism on the practice field this year compared to last year. I can also suspect that the energy level is up.

That’s why the coaches get paid.

Maybe it's just me, but if I close my eyes when HCJS is talking, he sounds like Ex HCNB. Their voices have the same timbre and the same rhythm. That has to be good, right?

How about Gunnar Watson? That dude looks like a totally different QB.
I know Sumrall said Watson was a "soft bodied kid" that needed to drop weight and gain muscle... and I heard Sumrall mention that Watson had been working hard to improve his body this off season.... but WOW, tremendous difference.
Watson now looks like a legit FBS QB. I'd imagine his improved fitness and strength will help with the little things like footwork, release time, etc.
I'm impressed.

PERSONAL OPINION: I think that CardinalBlackTrojan has made the correct observation. What really comes to my mind having worked with 17-25 year olds since I was one, this “body transformation” usually takes place the summer between senior in high school and fall semester of freshman year! What we are seeing is an example of the VISIBLE difference between the coach that came AFTER XHCNB and HCJS. You know the saying, “a picture is worth a thousand words”.

He does sound similar in tenor and mode. “We win ….and nothing else (within rules) matters. Also, not reminiscent of the toilet flushing sucky sound heard when Bedpan was in charge.

First, I hear what you guys are spouting. And I am all for letting the best man win, don’t care who as long as we win. BUT, don’t care what anyone thinks, HCJS didn’t bring in the 4 star cat from California via Utah because he wanted some back-up competition at QB. In lieu of major NIL cash, 4-star cat is going to get his promised playing time. Our program is not above promises and deals, it’s how the college football world works. 4-star California Cat will get several, several chances to proves himself regardless of what and how the next guy does.

Neal always spent the first three games playing everyone on roster. I can see that being the case here, especially within the first two games. I can see HCJS saying "Gunnar's gonna start Saturday, but Peter's gonna get some playing time as well. There will be opportunities for everyone in Oxford."

It will go beyond the cursory first three game looks for everyone. My bet, California Cat wins the job and excels. If Watson beats him out, kudos and then we should have an All conference QB.
