A good bench player gone to the portal. A other tough loss.
This is getting ridiculous. Another one that's off to his third school.

I know what I am about to say sounds ridiculous but I believe it to be true. Basketball at this time for the guys not at the top 10 Schools in USA almost all think that 52 card pick up is a great game and long term relationship lasts more than 3 months and on and on. A different team them is nothing. In BB it truly is going to be 50% roster change or more every year and honestly approaching more like 75%. Hard for a coach to hit a stride when guys are tripping you every second stride. Parents talking to kids these days (way too often) “Johnny whatever you want and what feels right to your truth.” I am sorry it sucks. Exodus chapter 20 refers to what happens.
Sorry just have to rant a tad since I actually talk to about 10-15 of these a week and the problems wrought within their families due to self centeredness and very poor insight.

They guys that have transferred did not really improve their situation imo.
A couple of reason to transfer that are acceptable
get closer to home academic program that's not offered at current school
Good luck guys! Coach Cross, go find better players than these guys. I believe you can do it.

don't disagree - it's not that easy but we are not the only school its happening to
in the current NCAA environment - and I hate to say this - the NCAA does not care at all about the 95% of the schools
Bill Self @ Kansas - BIG cheater but he's coaching and winning
And he's not the only one - just an example
off topic I guess
transfer portal is just one of the arrows in the quiver that imo is the death of the NCAA
so question is - should I still donate to an athletic program that just doesn't have a chance?
I have come to believe in football the Sunbelt should only play sunbelt teams - top 4 make a playoff and then a championship game played in New Orleans every year - and not part of the NCAA
but that is my pie in the sky idea - the economics probably don't work

GenZ mentality. Got a trophy for showing up for everything, told over and over that everyone is a winner and that if you don't succeed it's because someone else is to blame. Add in the transfer portal and if these kids don't start, coach gets on to them, team doesn't win...it's someone else's fault and move on to the next one. Might as well get used to this crap

Replacing 75% of team players each year bodes poorly for Championships. One thing about it... every other SBC team will be in the same position as us. Although I will say... Georgia State, under their new coach, has done a FANTASTIC job getting some big-time transfers. They'll probably win the SBC next season just because of that.
