Some of you guys who have been more deeply involved in football than me, help me out. When a team has an offensive coordinator or a defensive coordinator, those men are responsible for developing the respective game plans and seeing that the team is prepared to run said plan. The coordinator makes the decisions about who, when, where, and how.
What does a co coordinator do? if you have 2 people in charge, you have nobody in charge. Somebody, will by default, become the de defacto coordinator because of the fact that they are the one ultimately making the decisions. I just don't understand the co part of that title. Help me out, somebody.

Help me out, somebody. John Schlarman and Matt Moore both served as OL coach and run game coordinators and our run game was very, very strong. I like the idea of the OL coach having some input into this area because they know the blocking schemes that will work. Co-OC or Co-DC is just another set of eyes and input during planning, practice and games but the OC or DC ultimately has the say.

They game plan together and usually one of them calls the play.

You could also have a sideline co-coordinator and a box co-coordinator to add a different perspective.
