Lots of chatter about the new guys (including JMU) being in the Belt next football season. If this is true I like our rebound chances under HCJS even more. The road schedule without this change is fairly brutal for his first year. There are beat writers from some of the new schools reporting this to be likely. Did not post link till more confirmation. Enough sources speculate this to be true to ask others their opinion as to improved chances for next year. I have no doubt HCJS will raise our status but if this change is true then I think it will be quite rapid.

Does anyone have the new teams scheduled for next season? JMU will not be eligible for the championship as they have the transition year from FCS. They are the one team that concerns me. Great program with a great coach

JMU is the school that is in no man's land but according to their beat writer they will be playing 8 conference games next year but will not be eligible for title or bowl. Kind of interesting no man's land situation. I think the conference is probably scrambling like heck to get this figured out.

Just an additional note, JMU would count as an FBS game next year even if not technically part of the conference. Will be exciting if they can get all 4 in. Question is do we move west immediately if JMU isn't technically part of the conference yet? Admittedly I think the west schedule would be easier on JS in his first year as HC of a rebuild.

We would have finished 2nd in the west this season vs 4th in the east. I also saw an article where JMU, JSU, and SHSU might seek a waiver from the NCAA to only have 1 transition season since they have extra players because of the extra scholarships from the COVID year.
