cornhole misjudged the O line Preseason, NEVER stated we were sound at QB, Powell was a bust. I think we all over estimated the O-Line. Still don’t quite why our big R tackle who started all of 20 did not play at all. He grew and I thought was pretty effective. (Graham from Minneola HS) Like most football teams every position is up for evaluation and grabs…a lot factors into who plays and why. I found after a short time best to stop asking because the answers don’t usually make sense to fans in the stands. Of course we also aren’t at liberty to know “all” there is to know. We should all take another listen to Sabans speech and join together to support Troy football, athletics, coaches and athletes or move on.

Just surprised with some issues that he never saw the field. Definitely not an insider (as you would know much better than I) about the O line inner workings. We had just hoped for a better running game (which entails schemes and some misdirection etc). I personally spent watching Graham the previous year because of how much he grew and as a frosh did pretty well and not perfect. I did not watch the others nearly as much as him because I was trying to figure how he got out of Florida with his size and skill as a freshman. We all know there are a good many aspects and maybe he did not cut it. Hoping all is well and obviously would love to hear the unadulterated version of how things were with your sons group now that (The HC we don’t speak of) is gone and Meadows is probably not far behind.

Nope. Culture can be rebuilt quickly! We have an example in our our program with Neal Brown. We have the talent now. (The HC we don’t speak of) couldnât use that as an excuse. We wouldnât allow it. We saw the talent in the program. This multi-year rebuild crap some of yâall are already toting around is negative juice not based on facts. Culture CANNOT be rebuilt quickly. It took Neal Brown an entire year and the program was in much better shape culture-wise. You underestimate the impact and power of culture. You can have ALL the talent in the world and if the culture is bad you have nothing. I'm not saying the new coach can't win year one. But it's going to take some time to rebuild the wall. One week isn't going to change that. Who said anything about one week. A good coach can win with this team year one. You underestimate the desire and want to of our players.

The week I mentioned is in reference to the panic that seems to be happening by some of our fanbase because we haven't hired a coach yet. That was my point in my initial post. Hiring a coach this week or next week isn't going to make a difference in the culture change that must happen. Every college football team has players with desire and "want to." Not every team wins. Again, unless you have been part of leading a culture change, it's hard to understand how difficult, how long, and how important that change is.

"He's a HCNB Guy, he sits mentality". (The HC we don’t speak of) ego crap. Bye (The HC we don’t speak of).

Agree about the week and culture change, but losing a week is HUGE for recruiting. Signing day is on the 15th. Who are we signing?

Bob’s brother who was second string JV but quit playing football as a Sophomore. However he has put on 120 pounds playing Fortnite during Covid shutdowns and wins at Madden nearly every time.

(Graham from Minneola HS) The LG from â20 was pulled to RT , presumably bc the RT from 20â couldnât get it done , heâs got the body but maybe not the mindset and there has been no development of the OL for about 3 years ...... meadows was a crappy coach and Pugh was probably deadlocked with (The HC we don’t speak of) in a power struggle . The line would probably look a bit better if the TEs didnât block like they are scared of breaking a nail and the receivers got a bit more physical . These things can be corrected with a top notch coaching staff . Talent is there , development has not been . Itâs time to get it in gear .

Coming in and starting on the OL as a true freshman is the hardest thing to do period and he did it and played very well. Dad played in the NFL. Not sure what happened but ability and mindset I don't think was the problem

If you are managing your cupboard correctly the law of averages will dictate that it's impossible to recruit classes of high school kids in a position group and not miss on a couple.(The HC we don’t speak of) went to sleep on some postition groups and did not strategically add competition (through JUCO,portal, etc)by continuing to recruit EVERY position every week!Takes work, some are not cut out for work.
