The 2014 Troy Trojans should look a lot better this coming up season due to the accountability they are being held to by their on teammates. From what I am hearing if you miss your workout (weights) you will have to make it up and then go to the hill and run it while your teammates look on. The player themselves without the help of any coaching are conducting workouts (on the field) , defense against the offense and the offense against the defense for three days each week. If for any reason anyone miss this workout they will have to make it up also and run the hill. Sound like a mixture of some of the older players with some of the newer players have stepped up and taken on a leadership roles and not only hold themselves accountability, but their teammates also. This is always good to hear, players stepping up and being leaders. Especially important since the coaches can't be involved in summer workouts. Hope this leadership carries over into fall camp.

I feel like this has always been done. I understand skeeter is close to the program. What's different this year, and is there an octagon?

No there is no Octagon this year. From what I have been told, the past two years there has been no accountability from other players so they would only make summer workouts when they wanted to. Two players stated they only went to two field workouts the whole summer due to no accountability.

This seems to correlate well with the weight gains by a ton of our players. I think we could be really tough physically this year. I remember in 2012 when Shawn Southward came out the gate and was carrying UAB defenders on his back several yards at a time.
