Deion Sanders has always had the type of personality that could recruit well. He still resonates with young players.
Time will tell if he will be a great college head coach though.

Why? Why should we convince someone who has never thought about coaching to come here and coach? Why should we skip over every man who has dedicated his life to learning the game backwards and forwards and striving his entire adult life to be the best at managing a team, strategy, recruiting, development, etc., for someone who doesn't want to be a coach just because they played here before?
If you give me a choice between the coach at North Dakota State, or Kennesaw State, or James Madison, or Demarcus, I would never pick Demarcus. Not because I hate Demarcus, I love Demarcus, but I love my team, too, and I want them to have the best coach possible, and Demarcus isn't it.
