Early signing day is tomorrow. Rumors are out there about our HC being fired. Either do it today or put the rumors to bed or we look like a classless institute that led young men to sign for a coach who isn't going to be there the day after they sign. There is a right and a wrong and as a former player, alumni, fan and supporter....this is clearly wrong.

I agree, be honest about letting him go and let the chips (pun intended) fall where they may. It may help the guys signing to know that Troy is serious about winning.

Agree. Some statement needs to be made today. Either let him go, or come out and say he’s our guy in 2021. Saying nothing leads one to believe he’s not our guy and they are just buying time until signing day.

Saying nothing leads one to believe he’s not our guy and they are just buying time until signing day. There's not much they can say. Currently he is our coach and is expected to be for the coming season. If they are looking into a way to get rid of him without his full buyout, it's got to be signed and sealed before anything is said about his departure. It's better not to say anything right now, especially since nondisclosure would likely come into play. And this all comes back around to the huge fact that it's entirely speculation for the vast majority of us.

A out right lie you debunk. Doing nothing is speaking volumes. Even if it is an internal investigation, you don't investigate with no evidence

No. The clock is not ticking. I'm not a fan of (The HC we don’t speak of) but he's still the coach until the University says he is not. If you have anything outside of a baseless twitter post that he's in trouble I'd like to hear it. The only place I've seen the rumors is on this board and the school isn't going to release a statement because around 50 people may be curious.

Would you let someone spread lies about you and do nothing? Either say it's false or make a statement. It isn't fair for these young men making a decision tomorrow. Maybe kids are different today but if I was one day out in 1986 and I'm hearing Coach Rhodes might be let go for off field incidents, would I still sign? Maybe not

If anyone here has any facts they aren’t going to be dumb enough to post them. I do, and I’m not dumb. I know with absolute certainty a good many of you are saying something along the lines of “who the hell is this guy?” Fair. I primarily lurk. I’ll say I’m very local to campus and I’ve known certain things for a very good while.

Several here have inside tracks but won’t jeopardize those relationships on a message board. Time will tell that the proof is always in the pudding.

The truth is out there...unfortunately, it appears the Administration might be referring back to its Public Relations playbook if you ignore the problem long enough and it will go away. That might have worked in the 80's, but not in the 21st century.
There are only three things that can not hide for long, the sun, the moon and the truth -Buddha
And I am talking about the on-the-field product not off-the-field extra work that seems to be taking place here and there.
We are 1-7 the last two years vs Eastern Division teams...let that sink in for a while. ONE and SEVEN.

Next year, our DEF will be even better and I think DC knows what he is doing. Maybe we can hire Al Pogue and make some minor changes.
OFF is the issue. This year, the OL was pretty youngish and I think (The HC we don’t speak of) realized that we have a major QB issue - now with Taylor Powell transferring in from Mizzou, we finally could have a worthy QB1 who might win some games for us (Watson should be QB2). I still think we need a new HC but even with (The HC we don’t speak of) (The HC we don’t speak of) as HC, overall we should be improved next year. However, it might not show in the record because SBC competition will be tough and our OOC games include Southern Miss, South Carolina, and Liberty. We could experience another 6-6 season with many close games next year...

He would be a good hire on the Defensive side of the ball. Getting the transfer QB could be the spark we need. Next year is going to be tough, but the negativity is depressing. Positive vibes.

Maybe if the OFF would do its job the DEF wouldn't have to carry the full load + considering all the poor field positions the OFF and ST dumped them into, I think our DEF did a solid job overall this season. You just cannot expect more than creating turnovers, defensive TDs and multiple goal line stands from these guys. A good offense is still the best defense.

The defense knows what its doing at times. Usually consistency is a coaching issue. TMTDM showed face in 2020 but only at times.

Special teams wasn't putting the defense in bad positions. Jack was consistently one of the best punters I've ever seen at Troy. But if the offense gives it to the punt team on our own ten, there is only so much they can do.
