Machine! I’m looking forward to reading this with a glass of Scotch as soon as the kids go to bed. Thank you!

Great read. I think Trojan Field might have been behind the campus on Elm. Where the middle School or somewhere back there. I could be wrong though. It could have actually been behind Bibb Graves...where the library and Adam's Center are today. I do k ow it was behind the campus.

Great stuff! You should write a book, maybe a general Troy FB history book and another book focusing on Troy's FBS history (I would wait a few more years since we need to produce a little bit more FBS history, a few more upsets and some more bowl games, Top25 rankings, etc).

Patience. That's on my radar.

I saw one thing mentioning a stadium on the north end of campus, but every other reference for TF was at the Fairgrounds. I couldn't find anything that told me where that was.

When I was at Troy in the early 2000s I had heard that the parking lot between alumni hall and the admin building had been the location of the football field before. I may have dozed off during a lecture of Dr. Vollrath and got it confused though.

I could swear it's back on Elm or up on 29 somewhere. Remember, 29 used to be the main thoroughfare in and out of town.

The county USDA office probably has aerial photographs of the entire county. They were mainly concerned with agriculture but there may be some of the city. I have some of my place that go back pretty far.

Region 7 Office of USDA-Natural Resources Conservation Service is in Auburn. Hopefully you can Google that and get contact information. You are interested in any aerial photos that are part of the Soil Survey of Pike County.
