We are getting out scouted, out schemed, out prepared, and yes OUT COACHED.....but NOT out talented. We have the players just no one who knows how to develop and lead them. Next hire is crucial, unless we want to be the Texas, Tennessee, Nebraska of the Sun Belt.

The Vanderbilt job is open - they can pay (The HC we don’t speak of) as much as we are and I do believe he could get better results than Derek Mason. So hire Art Briles and Derek Mason as the DC. Dynamic baby! Sorry, I'm smoking today - just kidding - but we can all have a pipe dream

Go get Brian Bohannon at Kennesaw State (FCS) in the Atlanta suburbs. Started the program from scratch in about 2013 and has been top 10 team in 17, 18, 19. Was Assistant at Ga Tech, Navy and Ga Southern and he played at UGA. Knows the region and great ties to recruit the region. WINNER!

We won two Nat Championships with the triple option. We could run the Knute Rockne Box if we won. Who cares. As Al Davis said " Just Win Baby"

As Al Davis said " Just Win Baby" Until the spread is out of style, I'm not willing to endure two really bad years getting the players into the system. Especially not after the last two years.

I know that is his background but with more talent and if indeed he is a solid coach he would run some sort of spread.

Maybe we stop limiting ourselves and start hiring new blood. I agree. If Sumrall was so awesome, then he’d have already been hired by another team that mattered. Jus sayin. Just hang out right there and watch. I will be sure to revisit this post in 2 years.
The same could have been said of HCNB when we hired him.

Need to know? Nothing, hopefully. What do they need? More support, mainly financially. Most of our alumni don't give any money to Troy and they will continue to refuse no matter if we're 13-0 or 0-13. Troy is very disconnected from it's alumni base and until that's fixed we'll be in the same situation we're always in. Make sound decisions and still go 0-12 then the DT family continues on. Make asinine decisions and covid hits. DT family out.

This just in; Shocking development --- The officials found some mail-in scores that weren't originally counted. Troy wins the game 49-47.

I was thinking the same thing as to how many people have e mailed ADJones. I emailed him last year with concerns and he emailed me and called me! I have learned a lot on this forum and will use much of what I have read to formulate my message to him first thing tomorrow! I encourage everyone on this forum to do the same!

We need a coach who's life goal isn't to be the head coach of 4A Colbert County high school. We need a coach who isn't afraid to discipline the team. The first year of the Neal Brown era was a culture shock for the players and it took a while for them to start gelling as a team with discipline. They got better as the season went on. That isn't happening with this team. They are worse from the first game of the year and worse than last year. The coach doesn't care. He might be able to get the Colbert County job now.

As I recall, several holdover coaches from LB were screaming about Tee-Times and Lunch at Sisters schedules impinged upon by work schedules!! TRUTH!

XHCNB held the philosophy that if you excel at the little things, you will triumph over the great things. Remember when Liberty beat us and we cleaned the locker room? Always focused and no detail unattended. I am thankful I was alive to see it. I will always refer to his tenure as The Golden Age of Troy.

The students at Troy loved the man. He made the team a point of pride and humbled them to the level of the average student. He had the team serving the other students and thankful to all of them for their support. It was called pride in one another and common decency and respect of one another was expected to everyone. He led by example in work and respect. We do not have that.
Indeed the golden years. His having been at Troy was a plus. When he got off of the jet to reveal himself as coach I told my wife: “This is going to be good”. Indeed it was. You hire people of character and work ethic and you seldom go wrong. I understand life happens but to lead you have to have the respect of those who follow.

What this administration failed to do was look at what turned our program around, the culture in place, the discipline and look for those traits in a coach. Hawkins only criteria in a coach is the word SEC in his resume. If that's all you look for then Will Muschump, Hal Mumme, Sylverster Croome or Derek Mason might be the next coach at Troy.
