It never hurts in business to examine your competition or successful businesses to see what they are doing that is working. I hope Troy takes a long hard look at ULL. Softball just beat Arizona to go to their second College World Series and baseball crushed us this year and are ranked #2 in the country. They have no more tradition than we do nor do they have better facilities. We need to get to their level. I hope we study what they have done. Go Troy!!!

They also have a fan base that supports them better than any other in the conference. Won or lose the Cajun fans are out on full force. Whether playing a big name team or a small school no one has heard of they come out and support. They are behind their team financially as well. I wish our fans had the passion on the Cajun fans.
I think I'll have a beer.

Of course winning helps with support and they are in their season of time. Troy has had it also, just hoping we get back to it. The more the avg seasons go on, the more fickle the Troy fans get. I am with you in that I wish we had more support. Sadly, a lot of alumni like me who are a long way away support the school more than some who could go to games. Wish I was closer so I could support more sports in attendance but I do what I can and contribute to the Trojan Warrior fund. Here is to a successful 2014-15 sports year.

TROY's problems lie with the fans, or lack thereof, as hemi stated. Our attendance has been decent, but much better when the teams were winning. That's a fair-weather fan, in my book, and the program can't afford that right now. I personally don't believe that we have to model the nuts and bolts of our teams after anyone in this league because we've accomplished a lot in many sports, but not all in the same seasons. Fan support wasn't much more than mere attendance when the football team was on a five-title run...corporate sponsorships and naming rights are still wanting. The only way for the program to keep pace is to not make the same mistakes that were made when we were on top of the Belt before.

Not so much model but examine. Whatever they did in softball especially and baseball this season is working and it goes way beyond fan support. They are getting the players there and getting them coached. Fan support is extremely important but they don't recruit or coach. My point was more on how they are recruiting and coaching. Troy can get to this level IMO, just need a plan to do it and I hope we have it. Looking forward to bigger and brighter days ahead.

Maybe just sitting around with a thumb stuck? Sometimes you get the bear and sometimes the bear gets you. The cajuns were successful and that can't be taken away from them, but that doesn't mean the whole of the Trojan programs suck hind tit. JH is handling the AD very well so let's not get too jealous of the ex because she's doing better than you...it's only temporary. With football, WBB, and MBB coming off successful recruiting runs, I, like you, believe this season will be the beginning of a new stage of Trojan athletics.
