If Vandy and Missouri can are allowed to, I’m sure BYU would be fine No way they play with Bama, UGA, Auburn, UF and Mississippi St even Not every year but this year they would competitive in the SEC.

Shall we not forget that in week one of the season, the SBC went 3-0 over XII? Our conference is made of killers and Troy started it all at Clemson back in '16. Our awww shucks only conference titles matter attitude will get us killed by the programs in our conference that want to be P5 caliber teams. You punch through your opponent, not to your opponent. I personally don’t put as much value in winning a Paladium or in the Belt. I want us to do good in all games but mostly in the big national spot lite games against the power five opponents or teams like Boise or BYU! I think even if we lose but show well it can be good for the program but if we get embarrassed it can have the reverse effect! I see us struggling to keep up with Louisiana and Ap and it’s obvious Coastal is trending upward as well!

It was not spiders. Nor was it bees. It was quicksand. You get stuck in it and you begin to panic and all of a sudden it’s hard to keep your head above it. That is what happened. We are stronger than last year and I like our parts. We got stomped on by guys that recognized we were floundering and they were good enough on that day (late nite) to shove our heads under. It was the quick sand that our guys got stuck in and sucked up in with the help of BYU pushing us further down.
We are not Replacements but I am convinced we are still better than last years group

Are any of our kickers “Wirey”? Lagassey had a bit of stage fright as a freshman, but he was a 3* out of high school. Kind of wirey when he got here, but he has added good weight.

BYU played us with a 3 front. Two of those D lineman Tonga 325 runs a 4.91 and Dawes 278 runs a 4.85 .......are ALL SEC talent. No Sun Belt school will be able to manhandle our offensive line like they did.We have a good O line from what I’ve seem but we were outclassed trying to block twitchy physical elite talent, especially those two players
You can bet those two guys would be in a Bama rotation if Saban had them

And he hung in there and stayed. Some guys would have transfered or left but he stayed and kept working to get better. That's the type player you want in your program

In a nutshell, Troy O couldn't stay on the field, D couldn't get off. TROY BYU Possession Time 15:48 44:12 1st Quarter 4 : 2 0 10:40 2nd Quarter 5 : 1 2 9 : 4 8 3rd Quarter 5 : 0 8 9 : 5 2 4th Quarter 1 : 0 8 13:52 Third-Down Conversions 2 of 14 5 of 12 Fourth-Down Conversions 1 of 2 2 of 4 This isn't right. They corrected it but it's still pretty bad. Possession Time 19:53 40:07 1st Quarter 7 : 0 3 7 : 5 7 2nd Quarter 5 : 1 2 9 : 4 8 3rd Quarter 6 : 0 4 8 : 5 6 4th Quarter 1 : 3 4 13:26

Ineffective because BYU prepared well, and read all of our predictive plays, was always one step ahead.
Yes the quick sand did not help, when you circle the drain it only gets faster, I know this first hand.
A well prepared (3 weeks to prepare) team out smarted us in all three phases.
Touché on them, vengeance will be ours 9/5/2026.

Not at all important to some and yes I know Boise just getting season started but BYU is pretty good. 51-17 of Boise. Trouble they will have is simply not enough good competition. Still think they and Cincinnati are or should be considered for playoffs this year. Do I think they can play with Clemson or Alabama (Clemson with Avatar) no I do not but play with some of the other big teams yes. They would be crushing the BigXIi this year. We had so many young guys as parts to our team when we played them but they are good
