Hey folks, my question for you is this: What record does (The HC we don’t speak of) (The HC we don’t speak of) need to finish the next season with so you will not call for his termination.
I'm not asking what record Brent Jones will tolerate, I'm asking the bare minimum record (The HC we don’t speak of) needs so YOU won't call for him to be fired.
For me, its 10-3. He was given a full cupboard last year and pissed it away. I don't care about the damn virus, all the other teams had to deal with it, too. I don't care about transfers, that's all on him. If he can't get us back to at least where CNB left us, he needs to go.

I'm not gonna go with a record, but more along the lines of what the team looks like. There will be times where you play a near perfect game and the ball does not bounce your way at the right time. I think back to Neal's first season, I hate comparing these two coaches because it's not fair, but that team was the best looking 4-8 team in the country towards the end of the season. I need to see that again. I will never forget the image of the Coastal game last season when they went for 2 at the end and we had 11 players looking to the sidelines for guidance and never got it.
If you must have a record, 8-4

Whatever record gets him the heck out of Troy... winning record or losing record, it doesn’t matter to me.

Last year the man couldn't inspire a frat boy through the front door of the Porch. Coaching is not just about coaching athletes but also about driving and directing a staff.
"the Coastal game last season when they went for 2 at the end and we had 11 players looking to the sidelines for guidance and never got it" <----- There can be no more of that. If we have more of that and struggle win our way to 10-3 then its still a losing season.

It is likely between 6-6 to 10-2. The schedule is so ripe for a no worse than 5 wins in the first 7. If we don’t have that 5-2 to 7-0 we will go to an area that Possum will get his wish. I don’t think he gets asked to leave us or someone wanting him as long as he gets to a bowl.

He could go 0-12 and Troy isn't terminating him because of the buy out. If for some strange reason the stars align and nobody in the Sun Belt has an offense next year and we go 11-1 or 12-0 then maybe he is off to another school but IMO he's here for 3 seasons good, bad or terrible.

You hit the nail on the head when you said we were the best looking 4-8 team in the nation at the end.

8-4. I might take 7-5 if we beat NC State or Tennessee.
6-6 or worse and I'll be livid.

To keep his job: 4 wins For me to feel at least "decent" about the season: 7 wins To sell me on (The HC we don’t speak of) (The HC we don’t speak of): 10 wins

I think a 10+ win season, with a bowl win would get many more Troy fans on the bandwagon. So would winning the SBC title.

Good post except for one thing. The cupboard was not full last year. Yes the D coordinator had issues but they werenât calling plays for All conference talent And in some positions not even close. Agree with some, itâs how the team and CCL look, talk, act, present themselves and what kind of effort is displayed. Saying all that you still have to produce wins. To answer your question. 10+ wins: a small contact extension 7 to 9 wins: expectations are high in CLâs third year. 6 wins: gets 3rd year. Told to Produce in year three or gone. 5 or less wins: serious calls are made to see if the money is there for buyout.

Consistency is the key, give it a third year for a contract evaluation. You are correct sir, the cupboard was NOT loaded across the board, but a juco coaching staff struggled in dealing with all the challenges. Let's see if our staff progresses with a year under their caps.
