Awesome. I've said we've needed this all year and was suspicious early on after finding out Finley was fired from Southern Miss.

Wow! Way to go (The HC we don’t speak of)! Hiring Sajason Finley should've never happened in the first place. The guy doesn't know what he's doing. If Southern Miss fired him because of lack of results, then (The HC we don’t speak of) should've never gone after him either. I was worried Finley would ruin the strength/conditioning program. Glad he's being replaced.
There was a definite difference in our players strength and fitness this season, and it was obvious... in a bad way.

Obviously there could be a connection with the injuries as well. Pretty sure Jeremy made that hire. Not (The HC we don’t speak of).

I wish Horton would come back, but why the heck would he leave WVU for Troy? Not sure what we could offer that WVU couldn't.

Interesting. I wish Horton would come back, but why the heck would he leave WVU for Troy? Not sure what we could offer that WVU couldn't. Heâs not the head strength coach at WVU. Iâve heard he wanted to stay at Troy. Strength coach position is handled differently than coaches when it comes to hiring at Troy.

Some newly or soon to be unemployed SEC strength coaches could be in the mix.....

I agree with all above. I believe this was a major step in the right direction. Kudos to whomever made this change possible.
I too would call Horton yesterday if it were me. There are some good ones out there but he is proven as a winner here.

S&C is vital for not only strength but for building the body to better handle the game and decrease the frequency of injuries. So yes it was a big issue with injuries with us. Honestly the S&C coach is the 2nd most important coach next to the HC.

The strength coach was (I did not know this prior) a real doozie (sp?) Who on earth hires someone fired from another institution for poor performance or results? I do not know the details but having worked at, went to school at, driven by the school, know someone who goes to school there, or just be able to name the town USM is in should not qualify you for a job at Troy university. I have been told his one of his initial contacts with players as a group was hideous and if that incident were true should have been fired on the spot. However, glad to see that he is gone and yes call Horton yesterday.
As to the Defensive coordinator: Most of this board has made their thoughts very clear. (even if it is just a fan board) (The HC we don’t speak of) will hang his hat and reputation in the long run on some of his decisions he is making right now. I too hope if no more changes are made that it works out as best it can. After making our sentiments clearly known there is no more any of us can do. I don't pray for football success other than safety of everyone involved but I sure hope for Troy success.

There are some good ones out there but he is proven as a winner here. Got to spend some time with Horton two years ago and I can tell you, the guy knew his stuff. These guys are harder to get a good one than you realize and are a HUGE part of what Hemi said..The Culture of the Program. I would do what we can do to get him back to Troy
