So... Troy has moved up to #1 in the Sun Belt in the 247Sports team recruiting rankings. We were steady at #3.
We're also ranked #66 in the nation with this class, which is higher than any class we've ever had, including any of Neal Brown's. We're in the Top 10 nationally among G5 programs. Also, the average rating of every player in this 2020 class is also higher than any of Neal Brown's classes.
#47 - Cincinnati #56 - East Carolina #57 - Tulane #58 - UCF #60 - Louisiana Tech #61 - Memphis #62 - North Texas #65 - Western Michigan #66 - Troy #67 - South Florida
At least (The HC we don’t speak of) can recruit.

Hopefully we can get most, if not all of them in the early signing period. I'm still worried about the lack of defensive recruits. I feel like I know where (The HC we don’t speak of)'s recruiting priorities lie.

This class is offense heavy. 4 defense guys and a transfer. So offense is recruiting and what is defense doing? Having a nice vacation?

How this goes, adapt or die Yeah gone at the end of his contract when we can barely field a team. Hopefully Jones has enough manhood to not let that happen, I am not his biggest cheerleader or his worst detractor, I am but a simple man who love his school who can support and expect more from (The HC we don’t speak of). Hopefully he get's his ship off these troubled waters.

I like this. That is not a thing I have said much lately. Agree. Look at the Chicken Little’s on here bashing the # 1 rated recruiting class. Why wouldn’t you want the best class in the league? Regardless of all the missteps and issues from the past season. Take it when it comes people.

Regardless of all the missteps and issues from the past season. Take it when it comes people. It's a good looking class from the offensive perspective. Lots of 3* guys. The concern of the last season was we were not good on defense. If you look at this class, you don't see much defense. The rating of the class is not based on the needs of our team, but rather the number of * we get. So let's say we recruit nothing but 5* kickers... is it still a #1 class?

Did a quick look and right now it breaks by position as such QB - 2 RB - 1 WR - 3 OL - 6 DL - 3 LB - 2 DB - 1 ATH - 2 The OL number stands out but we know the position listed on these ranking are no always accurate. Not a bad breakout. But yes need a few more on the defensive side. Hopefully the last several go that way. And # 67 we are only 17 spots from XHCNB and WVU.

This is great news. This is the first real class this staff has been able to recruit. Neal's staff had signed most everyone by the early signing period last year, CL and company only had some clean up duty in Feb. Glad to see this!

Glad to see we're recruiting well. But these young guys aren't going to coach themselves. They're a wonderful element to have, but I don't have the faith in most of the staff to develop them.

Rankings don't mean everything. I seriously doubt we are only 8 spots lower than UCF and one spot lower than Western MI?? Coaching them after we recruit them is another thing. Ron Zook was the greatest recruiter in UF history....ask any of their fans how he coached

I'm trying to remember but I think that NB's very first class had some defensive studs in it and a few that played as true freshmen. Tend to think NB and VK knew we were in trouble defensively and went that route first.

CNB and Vic brought in those three JUCO studs (Cain, Lucas & Lloyd from Eastern Itawamba area) at Linebacker and Cedarious Rookard as well. They were literal game changers

I remember a certain basketball coach that was billed as a great recruiter. We fired him after five losing seasons and one mediocre season.

Would all you chicken little fans rather have the 10th rated recruiting class or the top rated class in the SBC ? Think some on here want the Trojans to fail in every which way and fashion.

In reality you raise a good point in this way: if (The HC we don’t speak of) can pull off the number 1 (heck even 2-3) after this year and yes our banter on this site that is impressive. This then leads to this question: Is it easier to fix a problem with as good or better players than your competitor? So yes I would be happy to see this come to fruition and would be a good thing even if More heavily weighted toward offense
