Just for conversation. Since UConn is leaving for the Big East, would the AAC pick up a 12th member to replace UConn in the east? If so who do you think are the top candidates? Would the Sun Belt add any members if 1 of our current members gets picked up by a different conference? Personally, I think the Sun Belt is a much better conference in football and baseball and softball than any of the other group of 5 conferences except maybe the AAC. So any move to a conference other than the AAC would be a downgrade or lateral at best.

I doubt the AAC takes anyone. Some of the AAC school presidents have said they are okay staying at 11 football members. There aren't many schools out there that would bring the AAC great, reliable football and great, reliable basketball. Plus, with UConn leaving, those AAC schools split less money when the CFP payouts are distributed.
The AAC will most likely sit tight until something bigger occurs, such as the Big 12 stealing a couple of AAC members... or if an eastern-based football program becomes a nationally-prominent team, which is something the AAC would try an pounce on before anyone else.

Back in July, the AAC commissioner said they weren't going to add a new member. On Saturday, the NCAA approved the waiver to allow the AAC to host a football championship game in 2020 even though they'll only have 11 teams. With that waiver in place, I'd be surprised if they add anyone right away.
