Certainly hoping for the best regarding BJ's injury. That being said, any insight on younger guys(aside from Billingsley and Daughtry-Frye) who might be in a position to contribute?

Woods might be the best raw talent and I'd like to see him play more. He and Charles Strong will be a nice one two punch next season alongside D.K.

No coach here for certain, but for this year, I'd expect to see more jet sweeps (end arounds for us Srs), bubble screens (!!!?) and schemes that will get the ball into the hands of our remaining strengths, those receivers. With Kaleb's vulnerability to injury, I'd expect to see Gunnar or Screws in on some QB designed run plays. Just thninking out loud. And oh, damn the NCAA for not approving Charles Strong for play this year!

I like the throwing down field vertical passing game after watching years of death by bubble screens. I never questioned we would be better offensively, I knew losing VK was huge but we just found out how huge. VK made correct half time adjustments, our current DC didn't. 17 points 1st half...30 second half. VK took one of the worst defenses in current memory (lost to ACU) and made them competitive year one. We went from good defensively back to Rowell Sat. DB's looking lost, receivers wide open etc

I'll give him credit. The pass was there and we took it. Years pass we would have kept running the ball for no gains or throwing bubble screens. If something is there do it till they stop it. So many times you see a team run a route or play for a huge gain or score and never run it again. If the run is picking up yds and point do it till they stop it. Why stop doing something that works to try something that doesn't. I agree though we are going to have to have a run game up the middle and on the perimeter...that and kick coverage 🤬

If I'm not mistaken ... I think Frye went down too ... and Woods might've gotten hurt on his run. And, as always ... when you guys dis the "bubble screen" ... just like when we were in the bone, or if you run the wing T, power I, etc. ... you try to get your playmaker in space with number advantage ... or at least with blockers in front of him. Just like a toss sweep from the I or a pitch in the option. I HOPE we continue to use them ... cause we have some playmakers out there. And, of course, they set up everything else in the passing game. And, the last few years ... they've absolutely worked ... just sayin Go trojans
